Thats what he meant, and vanadukes weak to piercing so ur choice rly :P. Rly, the attribute boost > UV boosts. Get a flourish line for pierce good for VD AND for fiends (trojans).

i alway run with Glacius and Acheron so im never dealing weak damage to anything. and if you get a 3rd slot you should get a flourish. that way you will have all dmg types covered.

I'm pretty new and I've been looking through weapon and armor lists picking out what I think would work. For now I'm just trying to find a good balanced armor set. Are there major problems with:

As long as ou get a fire uv on one or both, it's a great combo. For The weeps/shield, in FSC I recommend a volc plate shield. I have the grav vortex and don't like it much. And go with glacius.

So, I have a slew of gear and I was trying to gear so that at any given time, I would have the perfect set....here goes.

Now, my question is this....I was thinking going vog for the speed maybe making shielding easier after avenger hits....the problem is that I could just go skolver instead to replace my azure set for piercing defense AND get the dmg bonus as well (seeing as vog is elemental and i'm going for divine cloak as well). I've spent a hell of a lot of energy upgrading and obtaining recipes and at this point I just want a solid set. Any suggestions? At this point, the only thing from the skelly set im gunna keep is the shield because I already have 1/2 of the divine set.
My end-game set up for weapons was going to be DA / acheron / Final flourish / storm driver....any suggestions on weapons too?

For partying a SHIVERMIST. Buy soloing a Nitronome. I don't recommend anything from kozma unless is the weeps but anyway, get Skolver coat and divivne veil. Make sure you get some fire resist.

Which PvP Trinkets would you
Which PvP Trinkets would you use as general purpose non-boss hack/slash for the following:
Skolver Set + Dark Thorn Shield
Vog Cub Set + Dark Thorn Shield
Skolver/Vog + Dark Thorn Shield
If your opinion varies depending on swords, the closest I have to a "main" sword is Triglav and Sudaruska, but otherwise i pretty much have a lot of notable swords. Brandish, Calibur, Cutter, Troika, Sealed, I have at least one each at 5*, Flourish and Spur coming soon.
Second question - same as the above, except only one trinket.
Third - Would you ever use Omega Shell in place of any other "defense" oriented shield?

1-Depends on what sword(s) your using. I'd recommend a CTR one and a damage if your wearing Vog, ASI if your wearing Skolver.
2-CTR or Damage. Depends on what you're wearing.
3-Had a stone tortise and liked it, but hated it due to no status resists. The Volc Plate Shield is the same bit with resistances.

Soloing sword
Right now most of my runs are solo runs in stratum 5 (and as far as I get with s6, non-boss) and I'm using an ascended calibur and a master blaster. Both are fairly nice weapons, with no major damage bonus or reduction against certain monster types. The AC in particular is awesome for its charge attack. However I do know that I should get a weapon slot upgrade or two very soon, and I was wondering if you'd recommend another sword, maybe something like the DVS to complement the (future) levi. Or should I use this slot for a bomb? The AC works well for the crowds that spawn in normal levels, but areas like Deconstruction Zones seem a bit better fitted to a bomb than the AC's charge. If so, any tips about which bomb would be helpful.

Depends. I'd take a Divine Avenger AND a Nitronome (Mainly used for soloing, just got mine) so you can plant and blast. If you are willing to get TWO bombs to alter with in FSC etc. Then et a shivermist. I font recommend a DVS for a endgame sword but it does work quite well 1v1 in t3. I can sell you mine if you wish.

TBH I really don't like my Dread Venom Striker. But it depends on where you are. You'll want Damage more so being that it already is a fast sword, but if your going into FSC or a elemental run (About anywhere) then use Vog. This is not a good endgame sword. It's good, but there are better. I recommend using this in RJP and anywhere T2 and below.

1-Really depends on where you are. I'm gonna get my Barb once I'm done crafting a few other things but you should really only use that in RJP because of the piercing def. So I then recommend VPS, Grey Owlite and Crest of Almire.
2-As fast as it is that can be bad. It canlire you into spikes or status traps. And it's only good in t3 1v1. I used it myself against Vanaduke but it only works in the first phase. So it's a good but not great endgame sword. DA and Levi is.

I prefer the DTS over owlite simply because you can roll most of tier 3 with a bit of dodging/shield bouncing, even in FSC/vanaduke (though you have to take a little more care in avoiding LOS with the latter). The margin of error is a lot larger than a swiftstrike, where everything will break your shield. The extra 10% does help, especially when you start stacking on weaknesses/more damage mods
The only thing you really need to watch out for are that lumbers can break your shield in 1 hit.

You really only should be
You really only should be using a sword in phase 1,2, and 4. You CAN however use a DA charge in Phase 3 but I recommend using guns. Unless all you have is a shadow gun.
Tips-Don't kill them. They will die on their own. Just get somebody to get rid of fire via water, and everyone else to gun although after seeing Anly's Vanaduke Tutorial it IS ok to shiverlock Vanaduke as long as you only shoot him.

Is a vile striker worth it for the royal jelly palace? I heard someone say that it doesn't poison very much and that all you need are some poison vials, so i'd be better off just making my silent night blade. Is that true?

I have all of them and use them if/when I go, and prefer to use the vortex to suck them in, then go slash with my gran Faust and fan of Vog. I don't really use my dread venom so I can sell mine to you for 5.5k CE. I really hate the brandish line.

Winmillion? (Here we go...)
I'm a Spur-line addict, even though I'm still trudging my way towards a full 3* set and own only the Arc Razor, and I just want to stir up the discussion again: Winmillion worth it? I've seen so many topics for and against the poor blade that I have no idea what part of it's good and what part of it's bad any more, apart from the charge attack, which I know is all bad. So, your opinion of the blade? And if not recommended, good alternatives apart from the Levi Blade?

I liked the Spur line. I'm sad it stopped at 4* so instead I recommend you get a Avenger and/or Faust. I recommend Avenger.
Apart from a Levi those two (Avener and Faust) can cover ABOUT everything although you may want something from the Snarble Barb line to be safe.
