Could I interest you in another somewhat simple task if you're looking for random stuff to do?

The essential idea would be to find the probability distribution, likely random, of the ricochet angle of an alchemer. You can do it if you have Paint. Go to the position shown here http://i55.tinypic.com/2ngdb9d.png and assign a key to face north and a key to shoot (you should avoid using the mouse so that you don't move yourself with the mouse, if you move with the mouse). Then just fire, and take a screenshot when you see the bullet ricochet off the wall. The link here http://i53.tinypic.com/t5hn9y.png can then be copied and pasted, with a transparent background (doable with Paint), onto the screenshot. This protractor template was made so that when pasted the protractor can be used to measure the angle. Then simply record the next highest increment of 10 degrees that the ricochet is found in. So your data should just look like a bunch of numbers from 1 to 9, or 10 to 90 in increments of 10.

But that's only if you'd like that. I'm doing about a hundred every so often.

Looking at the wiki it doesn't say that they do. Though it says the 3* version does, or can rather. Perhaps if another poster could help with this query that would be helpful.

@unicorn: it seems more likely that it breaks around 64k than 100k... but if it's a Java Integer it will rather break at 2,147,483,648 :-(

Sadly, shift+click only works when depositing minerals. Other places where it would be useful (AH, Mail, Trading, Vendor) it does nothing. At least on the downloaded Windows 7 client.

Amusingly, wtfwtf_ok (OOO developer) says that it works:

i've got that for you fallout. BRB, quitting my job b/c i have to spend the next 3yrs of my life clicking on the ecto drop 2 billion times.

as an olive branch, i'll give you all my ecto drops next time i see you on. Free of charge. No idea how many i've collected.

p.s. watch the next update turn ecto drops into the most important 5 star item and everyone gets mad and ragequits while fallout sells 100,000 of them one at a time in the AH and collects 200k CE.

What client/os are you using? Shift+click has never worked in mine with the exception of mineral deposits. I'm using the downloaded client on Windows 7.

I have to ask why Ecto Drops? I thought Gel Drops were much more common, I have 500 of the useless things. I also didn't read too deeply about the Alchemer question but something I found weird about the ricochet is that it never bounces to the right of your character. It will bounce left and it will bounce straight on you (perpendicular?) but never will it bounce to the right. This is for the first ricochet on an uncharged Firotech Alchemer MK II. I don't know if different Alchemers will vary the results or if using the charge shot makes a difference or not.

OH is that where everyone uses them? I don't craft Haze Bombs obviously so I didn't even have an idea. I'm pretty sure Gel Drops are the most plentiful material I have. WAY more than Ecto Drops.
