Alright, so I was in T3, in the iron sun gate, to be exact, and doing the first level, which is the freeze-status lichen colony, and allowed a giant colony to form.
I think after it was a giant colony, it absorbed another, though I'm not sure if that matters.
Anywho, the wiki doesn't currently say, but I managed to get a royal core from it.
So far it's the only one that I've managed to get from a colony, I mostly get brute cores.

Has anyone else experienced this? And if so, then I'm wondering why it's not on the wiki yet. P:

me and a team of 3 managed to Have Every single lichen in Lichenous Lairs: pro. T3 last night...oh man its alot of fun actualy...kinda like a side game.. anyways we got ALL to merge and did not hurt him 1 time till the end He prolly sucked in around 20+ lichenous. I tel you what, u can push the Giant Lichen Colonies until they manage to get i think around 18-20 in that area. The trick is to never let more than 2 join at once and to push not let follow but shield bump the biggest one all the way through...the small ones auto track to it.(Ie: we pushed the giant lichen into a locked area and hit the button. about 5-8 lichens were so close they were almost touching but for some reason, every one of them wanted to goto the bigger one. its kind of crazy, maybe glitch? or maybe they just want their mommy...lol. Ok so a drop and i will promise this to my grave(dang t3 noobs screwed up my screenshot by standing next to lichen cause they didnt wanna shoot him, hes fast and if u have DA better run and charge attack) I have DA and the time it takes to swing, he has already de-throned u from the ground up...lol u wil get luck from time to time if another team mate is helping. The Super Giant Lichen(20+ lichens) will spin and dash so quick that u really need a faster sword. But it does inflict major damage, well at least mine, i charge attack him while hes iced and usually avg 400-415 first hit then hits 100 up to 4 times if its a nice shot. so somewhere around 750-920 damage really depending if i change my Arsenal around. If i have my radiant silvermail armor(1 uv high fire resist) and my divine Veil helm with 2 UVS and my piercing and freeze trinket on, then i have every single Attack (normal, shadow, piercing and elemental) all very high and i murder those slimes, undead and fiends. only weel spot is Stun....lol but hardly get stunned

So finally...here it is, i will def update with a picture because i am getting really good at this and found out if u happen to merge i think(dont quote)15-20 u will not be able to shield bump cause hes so chubby. Ok guys u know that "?" level? where its graveyard, treasure vault....blah blah

anyways they put those lichen lairs in there for a reason

get those to merge i think 18 or more(more is always better) and when i killed it id say probability is extremely low it produced a HUGE Gold coin(500 crowns) and my crowns jumped up somewhere between 700-730 crowns. now this is has to be a super rare drop cause the Wiki only says it goes to 50 crowns and doesnt say anything in their about being able to produce a rare item. But i guess u get a reward for making the biggest leichen ever..HA

im going to attempt it again today and see if i cant get that photo. Now mind u, all the trasure boxes and other gun puppies and wolvers pay too so i ended up leaving that level with around 1.4k crowns gained. and it did...dont know now....but the t3 depth was only 10ce to start at 18 depth it said cost 0 crowns and CE 10.

i dunno what it was but it was 3:30am CST in USA i decide to do a 18-23 basil run and jelly Farm II run (not jelly king) that was an amazing adventure, got to see 3 impostocubes (http://wiki.spiralknights.com/File:Monster-Impostocube.png) on 1 level 3 of them Jelly Farm II . All 3 dropped only 1 gold 50 cr coin each... so 150cr for 3 of the easiest wealthiest jellys alive.

ok so i started out with 1,166 crowns on Depth 18(t3) by the time i got to basil(did this 2 times in a row) i had 12,104Cr. the trick is to play the gates game, chose ur path and wait it out. Most of the time its worth it if u know what ur doing. IE: Treasure vault produces the less out of those 4 "?" gate
Now i have a toss up between graveyard and and Lichenous lairs, they both pay about the same but Lichenous is more fun i believe. You have to think tho, you have a "?" as a level and we all know thers 4 different ones. Why do u think they would put a Lichen lvl in with a graveyard and a treasure vault....hmmmm got me thinking something is up with these 2. With over 20 lichens appearing in the level get all of them to merge and get to gate and most likely u will get a Rare Huge Bright Gold Coin worth 500 Cr to each player then all the other little loot. Have to make sure u do it right cause if u mess up then kiss that 500 crowns goodbye and then just start killing everything. but just like a love puppy doesnt ALWAYS drop a heart pendent.

I really am trying to figure these guys drops out. Last night i ran a Jelly king run(Tier 2) and at the throne room runaround or whatever it is..(the room before the Boss) on the 2nd or 3rd wave comes like 7-10- liechens i dont know exactly but when that one merged to the giant leichen form, killing it always Mass produces crowns and heat (always gain 100 or more off that one Leichen, but not under the "?" but i from my experience playing T3 18-basil(23) if its only me or all my party listens and understands what to do,we can get a lair to mass produce a king Lichen real quick and then we add a few more, and the drop was like only 60cr sometimes less!

I guess i understand coin amounts are dropped randomly, but what i dont get, is how players, especially ones who dont have 4* gear and hasnt even gained access to the 3rd Tier can make more money on a Tier 2 jelly king run killing only 7-10 lichens and getting all those crowns (around 150-200) from that one Giant liechen and heat but yet, I can make a even larger Lichen thats alot harder to kill but get paid 75-100 crowns? /It seems that tier 2 jelly king runs is the way to go...but still i enjoy a challenge and Jellys arent one.

New Developing game

You got to understand this game just came out of beta...there are gonna be all sorts of problems for the first few months after that everything should have been updated and reported. Three Rings Designed this game to i honestly believe they do not know where, when and what will drop a rare item at any time. Wiki gives u a spot to click Edit or let the Game Masters know, they probably will want proof before posting a "rumor"

For that first level, what was the color of the lichens? were they all the same color or 1 was different then the others? was it light blue maybe? could have been a rare monster not seen or heard of yet! well if it was u missed ur chance to be the "first" to see it, cause u know ppl are gonna want a pic of it and if its not on the Wiki and not on the Web then probabaly no one will believe you. when i first started the Wiki was pretty empty with pics and specs and stuff, there is more into this game that people realize. This is why they allow you to edit some things on the Wiki...of course u know they will have to screen it to make sure it is ok to be seen and info is accurate. I had to wing it cause it didnt have alchemy paths yet for the sword i picked when i was noob. couple weeks later of playing more ppl started talking about wiki, so i checked it out and was devistated to see all my mist and crowns goto a sword thats only 3 star capable! shocking edge or something like that.
dropped the game for a couple weeks and picked it back up when the really bad bugs were here.

supposedly if u go back in these threads u can see Nick(admin/Dev) and i think Posiedon or Aphrodite (Game Masters), it was in 2010 and theyn just got through with a arena or maybe it was a deathroom, one of the 2, he found the most rarest item in the game, lol Even game masters didnt know about it. Im pretty sure the Developers put these random drops out there and no one knows what and when and where it wil appear. I know a little C++ programming and its probably a simple random command with certain values that lets the system know what to drop and when

good example for me is that me and my party went to "?" and it was Lichenous layer: prognisis or something like that, well i have been studying these "?" lvls and there is something certain u have to do in each level to earn a nice chunk of Crowns. usually these 4 (same but random) levels.
Treause vault is nothing really, u get 500-600 cr total so its not the best, Graveyard can make u really good money anywhere from 700-1k, but u know i didnt have any idea that the Lichenous level under the "?" could most possibly make u the most money.
on the 2nd trip from 18-23, we got the Lichenous layer and i just said hey lets have some fun cause this level sux and dont pay, so we decided to have fun and bump lichens around and we were going to see how big we could get it from the beggining and we succedded
We managed to merge every single lichen to one "Heavy" King Lichen. After merging about 19-21 we could not push him with our shields not even 5* grey owlite with Percing medium and shadow medium would just get broken after2 hits and i had a 15 vita so i had like 23 life or something lik that. It took roughly 1.5 - a full 2 min of constant attacking with charges and vials, he shrunk very little then blew up...something new to me cause usually they shrink smaller and smaller til they are a small colony and then its simple kill. This one blew up still full of Lichens and right there HUGE gold coin, watched my crows starting that level was 1,361 crowns, when we finished everything in that level i was at 3.1 k CR...and we did not buy any gates or anything, that was the BEST trip around ive ever had n the past 4 months. Fun, cool and adventours...

I'm not really understanding what your posts have to do with this, actually.

It was a normal colored lichen, the yellow kind, mdonelly84. The jelly cubes that appeared were of the ice kind. Like I said, it was a freeze-status level. First one in the iron sun gate. It's in the first post. No, it wasn't a level on the "?" level.

Thank you for the information on the lichen levels in the "?" level, but while that is very entertaining to know, doesn't really have anything to do with what I posted in the first post and is sort of unnecessarily long.

Anywho, fact of the matter is, it was a giant lichen colony that absorbed only like 1 extra lichen, maybe two if it happened while I wasn't looking, and it dropped a royal core. Has anybody else experienced this?
That's the only question I have.

I know the wiki doesn't contain everything, hence the question.

I don't have the exact details because I didn't notice I'd gotten one until the recap at the end of my run. But I did get a Royal Core to drop from somewhere in that gate. I generally let lichen evolve to at least colonies, sometimes more. So it's possible.

I'll try to pay better attention to when and where if I catch another drop.
