I was told it is more profitable to only play with the daily 100 energy, and only buy more energy for crafting?
Is this true?
And i don't buy energy with real money.

i've never payed cash for this game. and i'm about to get like, 6k ce because i crafted a haze bomb with a uv of CTR very high. you can try the roll a uv on the guy in the bazaar.

That's basically gambling.
That's basically gambling. Don't rely on UVs to get lucky and earn you a fortune, you'll just as easily burn all your crowns and have nothing to show for it.
Mist energy for exploring, Crystal Energy for Crafting, stretch your lives by only reviving with energy when your entire party goes down (even then, only one person). Know when to call it quits, too.

I'll list a few things to do
I'll list a few things to do once you start using CE for the clockworks. Although using only mist is a good thing to do and less risky, eventually using CE is what you may be wanting to do.
-Get good at the teir you want to go to get money from. This goes for using mist too, but more important when using CE. Wasting CE is a lot worse than wasting Mist.
-Pick gates you know will either: A. Be easier based on your equpiment or B. Get you a lot of money. Out of 5 gates, chances are that one of them will have both of those aspects. This goes for both methods as well, but it's sort of like the first tip when you don't want to waste CE.
-Have reliable guild memebers and friends. By this I mean people who don't mind you asking them to let you join them at stratum 2,4, and 6. These are the ones that get you the most. If you ask for this though, then you also have to be willing to go down and let your team do the same thing.
I know these tips might seem like tips for anyone (and they sort of are), but this is what makes using CE more profitable than just Mist. If 100ce costs 5000cr, and you can optimise your delve to get maybe 8000cr, why stop at your daily 100me? Only using Mist is only profitable if the cost of ce gets higher than what you can get in your average delve.
Thats typically the best way so that you can stockpile your CE while only using up Mist which recharges. Although once you're making more crowns than the energy you've spent you can continue to go back into the Clockworks using your CE and continue the cycle.
