What exactly happens?
Constructs are weak towards Elemental, but very resistant to Piercing.
Silversix deals both? Or just one depending on what it hits?
I'm confused.

So what good are these two gun lines? Seems that both the "good" gun and the "evil" gun only have elements that cancel eachother out?
Might as well get the Blaster-line of guns which deals Normal damage.
Yeah, blaster line is the best normal damaging gun imo, and for elemental, I love my gigawatt pulsar, so polaris. Shadow, Biohazard. All of these IMO. If your going for one gun only, then go for the blaster line.
That sucks. Given the old revolver-like appearance, those two guns are by far the coolest. Shame they are so stupidly designed.
I posted this in a suggestion thread earlier, but it works like this for the split-damage guns (and I think this factor moreso than anything else is the real draw for split-damage)
Against weak monsters, split-damage weapons deal 125% damage. Pure-damage weapons do 150%
Against neutral monsters, ap/blackhawk deal 87.5% damage, weapons split normal+type deal 100% damage, and pure-damage weapons deal 100% damage.
Against resistant monsters, split-damage weapons deal 62.5% damage, and pure-damage weapons deal 25% damage.
Had to seperate ap/blackhawk from the rest of the split-damage weapons in the middle because they're the only weapons that have split damage type+type instead of normal+type.
Anyways, the main draw of the split-type weapons is that they only lose half their damage comparing weak enemies to resistant enemies. Pure type weapons lose 5/6ths of their damage. Unlike an alchemer, you could take silversix into a gremlin area and still kill at a somewhat reasonable rate.
As for normal guns, if you think polaris is a good elemental gun, how can you not think supernova would be a better gun than blaster? The shots are equal to blaster at close range and have increased damage and knockback at long range.
I had the silversix, I sold it and then used the ce to craft my grey owlite shield and my gigawatt pulsar. I found out that the gigawatt owns everything in FSC. Yeah, they look pretty darn cool. I wish they had a antigua line that was just piercing, that thing would be awesome, and it would totally replace the magnus line.
Split special-typed damage is a drawback more than anything, imo. Because all monsters are strong to one of the 3 types (pierce, elemental, shadow), out of the 6 monster classes (fiend, undead, gremlin, construct, beast, jelly), you deal slightly below neutral damage to 2 classes, low damage to 2 classes, and above average damage to 2 classes. If you average it out, you come out behind neutral (because resistance outweighs weakness). This gets compounded by the particular classes of monsters the Silversix and Blackhawk are strong against.
Blackhawk is strong vs Gremlin and Beast, both of which dodge projectiles. Silversix is strong vs Undead and Fiend, the latter of which also dodges. Undead don't dodge, but they are probably the easiest class to deal with (Zombies and Kats are highly predictable). If the damage type had been shadow/elemental, you can bet there would be a lot more people using that gun- Constructs are the one class most people would prefer to take down at range, barring Mechaknights which shield.
In short, split special-typed damage hinders the Antigua evolutions. In attempting to be a jack-of-all-trades, they unfortunately wind up being rather mediocre, particularly the Blackhawk. Players are given up to 4 weapon slots for a reason- the game encourages you to load out the appropriate weapons for a strata.

The damage bonus from elemental weakness is closer to +25%. So....
Against weak monsters, split-damage weapons deal 112.5% damage. Pure-damage weapons do 125%
Against neutral monsters, ap/blackhawk deal 75% damage, weapons split normal+type deal 100% damage, and pure-damage weapons deal 100% damage.
The rapid rate of fire is the main draw. When I went on my Dauntless Delver run with a Lv10 Peacemaker, I noticed that curiously, it scales down much more harshly than other weapons on earlier tiers. The Argent Peacemaker deals good damage in Tier 3, low damage in tier 2 and pathetic damage in Tier 1.
You get normal damage out of it.
