Aches. Those trinkets. Slooms are still here though. Just very rare.
Slooms' predominance as enemies you be prepared with Sleep-resist for is long gone, though.
...now you got me interested in looking up all the beta stuff in the Wiki.
Interesting...I assume Kats used to drop these. Now I know what to put on my hunting quest along with Zee Cores.
Emwhat is that? Stuff fir 600 CR? I wish
they were in the preview before last preview. (of course there were more.... but the wiki was 'mysteriously' stuffed over)
I'm curious, how far do these preview/betas go back?
Any pictures or videos from the one's you recall earliest, Fallout?
my brother found a sloom before while doing a snarby run. o and the person who wanted a cursed idol its not obtainable anymore it said so on the wiki. lol
The Preview events stretch back to 2008. Finding someone from then will be tough. I'm unaware of any such veterans.
eh i got some short videos on youtube (im king_saxon) but other videos have also disappeared. and these betas/previews go back to 08 (i started in 09). there'll be some old pictures scattered around these forums to.
I'm quite sure there are no players from 08 anymore. most quit last preview (dunno 'bout Talbain?)
Talbain comes and goes, but I think he's an 09 person too. That guy always has something interesting to say, if you happen across him.
omg, and baximus... always forget him. but i think he left late april
We saw a sloom tonight in one of the poison lichen rooms before the vana stratum.
Reading through Fallout's links to that old wiki and his Jan 2010 videos show interesting differences. Silversix being the original, DA seemingly better by having a brandish-style swing, charge attacks being much faster before, giant Spookats... You mentioned in the Silent Metropolis video that there was a boss that was at the end; is this the Tortodrone or another boss people aren't generally aware of?
On another note:
Has the game changed so much that there are no players that continued from the older gens?
Bosses were mainly large arenas with different mobs (4x the size of the arenas today). you used to have to lead enemies into re spawning explosion blocks to take them down fast. there were the dueling tortodrones (metro), the trojans +rocket puppies(fortress) and a few other which i can't think of. and after the bosses they had the homecoming of heroes, which was like a treasure volt but with invincible golden trojans.
and yes the game today is, well, not really the same thing anymore. I don't know if there are any continuous players from the old previews left. I feel like a grandpa xD

Did I read that right? So basically it's like the treasure box areas after bosses now, but larger and guarded by things you can't kill? That sounds hilariously awesome.
Old Angelic Raiment and Armor
Old Skelly Helm
Old Wolver Cap
Holiday Sallet
Treasure Vaults guarded by invincible Trojans...this should happen sometimes. Greater rewards (higher chance of tokens and gear drops), greater risk of getting mauled.
I could imagine an energy-locked giant room COMPLETELY filled with red treasure boxes...and four Trojans.
I would open that at the drop of a hat.
Also, I saw a Sloom just the other day. Too bad it didn't drop anything.
Town Passes were my favorite, back when the different towns were actual platforms with their own arcades.
But i imagine part of the reason there are none of the 2008 players left b/d this game doesn't have enough in it to keep you going for 3 years. I'm surprised fallout is still here, in a way. I srsly doubt you guys will see Rommil running around in 2014.
@GamerTB
I'd love that. But not 4 trojans... Depending on the size of the room, that's how many trojans.
If it's a large room with 10 red treasure boxes... Put in 5 golden trojans.
Or better, have a treasure vault in a graveyard that holds 20+ high-yield boxes, but contains 4x the regular number of phantoms (16 in a party of 4)
And these phantoms are immune to all conditions. And respawn 15 seconds after death.
@Boolet
There is no kill like overkill.
Why is it that this game sounded like it was more complete back in the preview events? the current game seems almost like a shell compared to what was offered back then. Why was everything taken out?
Because the entire game back then was completely unbalanced and you could play through all the content in about 3 days. The game really is in a better state now then it was then.
Slash Module
Quick Draw
Bomb Focus Module
Heavy Armor Ward
Drake Scale Pendant
Hoping these become Krogmo Coin token exchange prizes. Never heard of Dusk Drop or Forbidden Idol, though.
And since we're going to name enemies, Slooms.
