Crafting versus rolling:
Here are the numbers for crafting, on a number of (fairly reasonable) assumptions. I'll list the assumptions, then the numbers:
1. An optimistic ratio of 5000cr:100CE
2. UV rate is 1/10 (1/100 for two, 1/1000 for three)
3. UV crafting is restricted to 2* items (will soon be true of haze bombs anyhow)
4. Mist energy is 'free' (in truth, due to opportunity costs, mist is NOT free, but we'll pretend that it would have otherwise gone to waste)
5. A material cost of 600cr per item, so we can make 2* items cost 3.5kcr on CE, or 1kcr on mist.
6. We can sell unwanted 2* items to recover 2kcr
Single UV case: Roughly equal
Following (2), we will need to make 10 items on average for a single UV. This costs 35kcr on CE, or 10kcr on mist.
Nine of the items have no UV, and we sell to recover 18kcr. Cost is now 17kcr (-7kcr mist)
Punch charges 15kcr, so it costs a total of 18.5kcr (16kcr on mist)
Looking at the numbers, Punch is pretty reasonable for single UVs. Depending on how much you can recover from selling junk items, and how much CE costs, Punch's prices are pretty equivalent to ragecrafting, but minus the hassle of selling junk items to recover costs. Crafting on mist is obviously the cheapest, but if you factor time in, even with 4 accounts going it takes 2 days.
Double UV case: Punch
Again, 100 items = 350kcr (100kcr mist); assume a recovery of 198k for totals of 152kcr (-98kcr mist)
Punch charges 75kcr, so even if you add on the cost of the item, it is clear that Punch is the better choice. This doesn't even consider the time spent crafting or selling.
Triple UV case: Punch
1000 items = 3.5Mcr (1Mcr mist); round to 2M recovered for 1.5Mcr (-1Mcr mist)
Punch's price is 375kcr, a total bargain by comparison. The amount of time you would waste to mistcraft and sell cannot be ignored either; it would take you almost two weeks even with 4 accounts going.
Overall, it looks to be the case that Punch is actually offering quite a good deal. Of course, these calculations rest heavily upon assumption (2), but as CE prices creep upwards, the result will favor Punch even more.
Vise, on the other hand...
