Gifting peple would be like trading except for the fact that you would gift them through mail. You would be able give them crowns, energy, weapons and equipment without them having to log on. Some knights are like poor and stuff so they don't want to gift people, and thats ok because they dont have to. But for the richer and more generous people they would gift their friends just be friendly and all. I just reckon it would be cool to gift people and get gifted. It would be like trading except both members dont have to be online at the same time. I'm saying this because hardy any of my friends are on at the same time as I am.

If you really wanted to gift
If you really wanted to gift someone, you would meet up with them. But as you said, you may not meet up regularly.
Which leads me to my other point. Are serious that you can't spend 100 Crowns to send some equipment to someone? If you can't, I don't think that you should be gifting in the first place. As for being gifted back, if they were true friends, they wouldn't need to be told to gift back.
I see a massive problem here. But am too lazy to point it out. Maybe when I've slept for a bit I may point out something about your suggestion.
