Fade out is a good idea.
It's like transformers, they run out of energy so shut down. The they re-power their suit with their stored energy to restore themselves. Or perhaps reduce the eyes to slits.

nope the knight never dies it just losses the amount of energy you have stored in the movement part of ur armor so ur not resting or dead you just unable to move until u recharge your suit via another knights energy source (suit or bank) or your own bank source

Kewl ideas. Just something, because this is a funny game, and extra comedy would be cool.
Tho it IS kind of funny seeing this dead guy blinking at you.
I KNOW hes not actually dead, but even if they run out of energy to move, that would mean the lights they have for eyes would at least be put into power saving mode?

How about whenever you die, the game randomly chooses one of the eye animations to play, it could even include the 'blinking' animation just as an in-joke to older players.

I mean, I don't really understand why my character twirls like a ballerena when he gets impaled by a flying barbed jelly.

Have you seen austin powers two and three? Just think of all the times mini-mee gets beaten up, thrown out of a car, or launched out of a spaceshuttle toilet. I was thinking along those lines, becuase I'd rather go "OHHH U SEE THAT MAN" then "Not AGAIN" when I die.

Yeah, dying can get kinda annoying, so why not make it funny? So you can go OMG did you see what he did thar?! (Lumber smashed you, you went flying into a wall. smacked into it and collapsed in a heap.)
Its so the image is burned into your memory..... knowing that you just left him there to die. He was calling for help and you just left him there!!
