Problem: When I start Spiral Knights, I won't be able to see the character selection screen. The mouse cursor changes to the Spiral Knights blue cursor, but I don't see my character or any of the background images or buttons. The game screen stays blank.

My computer is a Samsung N250 netbook with
- Intel Atom N450 CPU
- Intel GMA3150 graphics (supports OpenGL 1.5 and up to 384 MB video ram according to Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intel_GMA#Specifications)
- 2 GB RAM

Running on:
- Windows 7 64bit SP1
- Java 1.6 Update 26
- Intel drivers 15.12.75.50.64.2230 (newest)

I play the game via Steam and it's fully updated.
My network is not an issue as I can play the game on another computer in this network just fine.

I have read the sticky (http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/48) and tried the Regedit tips - they didn't help. The game is set to windowed mode on 1024x600 and lowest details. Is it possible to activate the debug mode (which enforces even lower graphics) via Regedit?

Having a hard time finding

Having a hard time finding any info on compatibility with OpenGL games other then minecraft. You also seem to be the first person in this entire forum to even mention a 3150. Theoretically it should work, but Intel hasn't always been good at OpenGL support in drivers..... ok, never been good at support.

Also, theres no Debug mode, unless your thinking compatibility mode? The object name is "Compatibility_Mode" and "Render_Effects", both should be set to false.

If you can post the contents of the projectx.log file from the SK folder, we might get lucky and report a rendering problem. If it doesn't, it means the video drivers or the hardware doesn't properly support all the OGL extensions the game is using, but tells it can. Wish the wiki was a bit clearer on which version version of OGL they developed for, or what extensions the game actually needs.

This is a OpenGL compatibility tester if anyone is interested in playing around with it.

To add, the last person who

To add, the last person who came with an Intel Atom based netbook had no luck whatsoever. However that person was trying to use a GMA 500. You have a component that benchmarks 8fps in Counter Strike: Source, I doubt it will ever run Spiral Knights.

There is Intel's OpenGL compatibility page, but it fails to distinguish between actual hardware features and software emulation (that almost never works).
