DIE TOPIC, this is done

this suggestion has been disapproved by the players!
Your primitive human gender binary has no place in a whimsical land of magical robots from space from the future in space (robots)
Your proposed feature provides absolutely no benefits to anyone.
I found something interesting on the Wiki, regarding the description for the Nightshade material:
"A hazardous herb that's unhealthful for humans, but tasty to a teeming variety of toxic creatures."
So does this conclude we are humans? I'm wondering why else humans would be mentioned in the game at all, especially in this context.
More on topic: Personally, I'd rather have a "Profile" page where you could alter these things as you wish, with no requirements of what to fill in with detail. Win-win?
There are no gender-specific graphics in Spiral Knights, so selecting a gender gains the player nothing.
If you wish to make your gender clear, pick an unambiguous name. Otherwise, I see no reason to have players indicate a gender on their character sheet. It just invites harassment and provides no benefits.
I like not having people harass me because of my gender. Keep it this way please D:

NOOOOO!!!
Keep everything genderless, I've had several people question my gender to a rather amusing effect!

I like guessing its a 50/50 chance ftw
What about people who don't fit into the traditional binary options of M/F?
At the very least, if Spiral Knights were to incorporate gender into the game, they should at least make sure to include more than two options. Even if it's something as simple as M/F/Non-specified. It's not perfect, sure, but it would be a step in the right direction if they took that route.
Personally, though, I think it's easiest to leave the issue out entirely.
God forbid we treat people like human beings without knowing specifically who we can hit on...
Double posted by accident of refresh.
Raven776, I could not agree more. Please keep SK the way it is, with no more than optional details.
if the player characters ARE indeed machines
can we have armor that makes our lower body a propeller so we can float around?

but bikinisarah is a dude...but whatever, bad feedback = die topic and suggestion

Quadruple posting is also a good topic killer.
Let's leave it at this: no one wants another Playstation Home.

I don't think this is necessary, and whats to stop me from choosing girl even if I am a guy.
I would rather people not worry about my gender. Sometimes I want to tell people I'm a gal, sometimes I want to tell people I'm a guy. People have no business knowing my personal information, and they shouldn't care about my gender at all.
What's wrong with bikinisarah being male?
Gender identity can be complicated and this kind of feature adds nothing to the game. If anything, it would detract. I've played games where you had to select either male/female avatars; getting hit upon for looking as if you're either gender adds an entire level of AWKWARD to a game that I really hate.
And locking your gender in for all characters in an account is even worse.
I have no idea why the human race decides that indicating a particular gender should invite flirting, but it does (and even moreso if you're playing a female character, what the heck is up with that, it even happens in purely text games). SK is not about flirting. It is about killing things with your friends and leveling stuff. If one wants a more social game that allows for flirting alongside those two features, well, there's always WoW.
But what if I'm a robot?
Robots don't have genders.
