volcanic plate mail needs a visual update

I am having second thoughts in whether or not I made the right choice in crafting and using a volcanic plate mail
I got it because it's normal defense is higher than that of my other armor (volcanic salamander suit) but not by alot
I thought the armor looked awesome at first, but now its starting to look a bit on the fugly side
the pirate stubs for legs (wth), dull red plate arms, and thick thighs make it look like Mr.crabs
the stubs seriously look ridiculous
it lacks luster
I wish it had some "fire" design aspect to it like the volcanic salamander suit and the vog cub coat
Which is better?
vol plate mail or vol salamander suit
feedback would be appreciated
I agree and it was my first ever 5* armor. It looks ugly, head is too big, stubby feet, huge thighs and the color is bland...etc. Out of all fire-res armor, I chose volcanic because it looked cool in the wiki but when I did got it... I regretted my decision. Now I almost completely don't wear it, almost like a locked away memory that I want to forget but I just can't. I have crafted myself a new Vog set to replace this undying sad armor. *sadface* :(
Actually, what you see now is the updated visuals.
The armor used to look like this: http://wiki.spiralknights.com/File:Oldvolcanicplate.png
Which in my opinion looks better, but I guess it was too similar to ancient or too different from the other volcanic stuff, or something.
Also the model is awesome, I don't know what you guys are complaining about in that department.

Yes, the beta suit was ugly but it was awesome during the beta.
It also looks like that g4y crab/devil thing from powerpuffgirlz trololol XD sup G...

hey hey hey
super wonder P
Im thinking of selling it back to basil for 30k cr
why??? haha up2u bruh i think ima sell my sinister too

lol if you can pay for the unbinding price
dude bruh wait for me to play again....maybe round 5:30 sound good?! i wanna try out the new arena xD
@anonymous Do you mean "him". (the villian)
Well see, the whole idea behind costume slots is that you don't have to look at the armor you're wearing, you can just put on something prettier on top, such as the salamander suit if you prefer it.
Of course, if you like the general aspect of Plate, then that's fine too.
If you plan on using Volcanic Plate armor, you have to understand that you're sacrificing your offensive potential for a stronger defence, through attack speed. It's up to you if the reduction is manageable or not. The reduction in speed may or may not make you more open to being hit.
Volcanic salamander won't reduce your speed, but you'll have less normal defence. Remember that normal type attacks are less common in T3.
~~~~~ Straying from the immediate subject matter ~~~~~
However, if you're comparing 'Volcanic' armors, you should include all of them in the selection.
Volcanic Salamander, Volcanic Demo and Vog Cub (Not technically Volcanic but bear with me) all have the same defensive traits. Same normal, and same elemental defences, along with fire resistance, according to stat bars.
In the end it just depends on what you want as armor bonus.
Volcanic Salamander is a specific slime bonus, so if you don't plan on killing many slimes that's kinda boring.
Volcanic Demo has a charge time reduction for bombs, but if you're not a bomber then that's also null.
Vog Cub, the 'popular' one, is a sword attack speed increase, which is also 'meh' if you're not a swordsman (but the majority of players are).
