Simply put:
This bomb. Token Reward.
With optional powerups appearing in dungeons and being able to kill yourself.
Just for the novelty value.

I really don't want to be able to kill myself in the regular dungeons. i don't have that kind of energy and I think my teammates would get tired of giving me their health...
But other than that, having it available as a reward.. with upgrades for the different power levels.. yeah, I could see that. And it would probably have really high damage to compensate for the specific area of the attack, so that's nice. I'm sure anyone who enjoys the crystal bombs would feel right at home taking the Blast Network cross-bombs into a dungeon.
Perhaps, maybe instead of the powerups appearing out of say, a heart chest when you are dow to one pip of health, you can upgrade it along a line.
