I have been playing the game for some time now, and I would like to let here some ideas that I think it could improve gameplay.
-Heat Convertion: When you have nothing to level up, all the heat you gathered will go to waste. Dont you hate when you open one of the energy door expecting some handful of crowns and all you get is heat? I sure do. How about instead of making heat totally useless to people with their things maxed, why not let them have some crowns in return? It would basically transform all unused heat gathered into crowns. Perhaps 5 heat = 1 crown?
-Energy Coins: Energy Coins would be rare-to-drop coins that could give you around 1 to 6 energy, and it would be found depending on the stratum they are found at. Stratum 1 have chance to drop 1 energyworth coins. Stratum 2 have a chance to drop 1 and 2 energyworth coins. Stratum 3 would have 1, 2 and 3, and so on.
I would be nice, and yet it wouldnt hurt the developer's profit (at least I think and hope). If it would be too much, perhaps, 1 to 3 energyworth coins, per tier.
-Preview on AH: Pretty much like the feature on vendors and recipes, let you see how stuff will look on you on the Auction House.
-Item Database: I would love to see a database (ingame or on the wiki) with all the weapons and armor models in 3d. Just like Wowhead's Item and armor database. You make awesome models for the game, why not display them for us not only ingame?
I think that's all the ideas I would like to see in Spiral Knights, and I hope someone out there at least read these. I think it would greatly increase the experience for us (well, for me at least).
There is one last thing I would like to ask the community tho.
I'm not sure if this idea would be good to be put in the game, but perhaps add to Spiral Knights some sort of Character Level System?
Your character slowly grows up as you archive certain things ingame, that wouldnt rely on hours and hours of grinding just to get a level.
Instead, the experience needed to "level up" would be gathered by completing archivements and getting a certain amount of kills of each enemy and reaching new rooms. And these each level gained you could choose a "perk" of some sort that gives you more health or make you better at using certain types of weapons or fighting certain types of enemies.
By killing, lets say, 200 Chromalisks, your character would "realize" this creatures has certain atributes, and it would unlock a small healthbar or something that let you see their health. In higher levels even grant you a Low to Medium bonus damage against these.
By killing bosses and reaching tiers you wouldnt be able to reach before you could unlock new levels.
Something that would give more stuff to do in the game instead of just playing daily to get crowns to buy your equipments.

Most of the ideas I agree with. The only thing is the Energy coins...I don't think it'll happen.
I don't think SK will condone anything that will get you energy in-game. I'm asking for a Mist recharge speed increase while offline. I think that is a more realistic suggestion.
Heat use? Definitely. I get soo much heat and have nothing to use it on.
