Hello everyone.

I wrote up a little preview on the game during my spare time for OnRPG.
It doesn't anything special if you've already been playing, but it should be a good read for anyone that wasn't fortunate enough to snag an invite.

You can read it on my blog: http://mikedot.blogspot.com/2011/03/spiral-knights-preview.html#more
Or at OnRPG: http://www.onrpg.com/MMO/Spiral-Knights/review/Spiral-Knights-Preview---...

Also: Looking for people to critique my writing since I feel the need to improve.

This may be moreso a review

This may be moreso a review on the gameplay in general, but you seemed to lack any opinion on the equipment balancing and the equipment playstyles (some weapons play drastically different from ever other weapon type).

When you mentioned the crystal system, you seemed to only only mention the fact that you'll get crowns for depositing minerals.
You may not know this, but the amount of minerals you have in a specific stratum affects what ecosystem that part of the gate will have.
Players essentially have to work together to make the gates that they want.

Well yes, indeed. I am aware

Well yes, indeed.
I am aware of all that, but I wasn't sure if I wanted to mentioned it for my preview article since I am planning to do a review later on.

Nice write-up Rahzzy. I

Nice write-up Rahzzy.

I don't know if I can critique the writing style, but if you're looking for critique, I would say that it felt like the tone of the article was very much focused on your experience of one or two sessions rather than your overall thoughts on the game. But, maybe that makes sense for a preview. As you said, most of the rest can go into your review of the game.

In the same vein, I wrote what I would call a "recommendation" for the game rather than a pre/re-view, thinking I would post it here but then realizing that no one who hasn't played can access this forum yet. So I'm just providing the link in case you'd like to see the approach I took to "getting the word out": http://nullward.blogspot.com/2011/03/recommendation-spiral-knights.html

I am hoping that plenty more people will review/write about/draw attention to the game. I think it really deserves a strong launch.

Rahzzy, Nice write-up! I

Rahzzy,

Nice write-up! I have the same critique Thrull does; there's less of a sense of an overview of the game.

I like that you went into detail, which is likely good for the audience of OnRPG.

A couple items of proofreading:

- "There are several difference dungeon gates" should be "There are several different dungeon gates"
- "After trudging through waves of goo...", this paragraph is centered for some reason and doesn't seem like it should be.

In contrast to your in-depth article, I wrote up a little plug article on my own blog that's really a teaser for the casual gamer. And also just an expression of how much I love this game.

Crazzywave,

My memory is rotten, but I don't recall giving energy to anyone, so you're likely mistaken that I know you.

A minor nitpick: the planet

A minor nitpick: the planet on which SK is set is called Cradle, not Clockworks.
