When I heard there was being worked on a pvp feauture a few months ago, I couldn't wait for it to come as it would add so much beside going through the clockworks. This game is made for PVP in a lot of ways as it doesn't only revolve around stats but moreso around skills as well.

I logged in yesterday and found the blast network thing. This was so unexpected but my first reaction was: This is truly the most unexpected but yet the most genius decision for spiral knights i've ever seen. In no way did I expect them to implement a bomberman esque pvp into the game.

Now I don't know about any of you guys, but i've played alot of bomberman in my youthful years, and seriously had so much fun with it.

I think the blast network feature just shows what geniuses 3 rings are when it comes to ideas and knowing whats best for spiral knights. Thank you 3 rings for being such an awesome dev team and bringing one of my greatest childhood memories into this game.

I'm having a BLAST... get it? blast (lame joke is lame)

Right. This game is made for

Right. This game is made for Pvp. Pvp that apparently has nothing to do with the regular gameplay of Spiral Knights.
This game is made for Pvp? Right. Apparently you've never played any real competitive games. Spiral Knights isn't geared at all for Pvp.

I'll leave the rest for you to figure out.

Spiral knights is indeed not

Spiral knights is indeed not made for PvP at all..
But I love the fact that they thought about >A< way to put PvP here as we suggested. It's not inbalanced at all, and we only have one game mode yet.
It's just insanely fun to once play VS players instead of with.

I'm really enjoying the PvP

I'm really enjoying the PvP minigame too, it is a great diversion from the clockworks.

crown-based gameplay

I think one of the main successes of the Coliseum is it gives players something fun to do based only on crowns. As much as people will complain, the fact is they're basically extending the F2P portion of the game.

The new event is good, and

The new event is good, and every one know how to play.
But there is a big problem. The effect of lag is tooooo big.
In some round, I only see the bomb is drop but no player is there :S
And the amount of token to recipe is the way to many, many player just join the game for afk n token.
(In fact, many ppl just using marco to do this event)

every time there's any

every time there's any addition to the game there's always a select few who crucify it, claiming the end is nigh for SK. on the other hand after the dozens of blast network games I've played I think I can say there's plenty out there who like it as much as I do.

Haters gonna hate.

The only legit problem with

The only legit problem with this game at the moment is lag, everything else in my opinion has been brilliant so far.

And anyone who thinks this game engine isn't designed with infinate PvP possibilities I can't understand, and would love to hear what games fascilitate great PvP in their mind. The "battleground style" pvp queue is something that I have only seen thusfar in RoM and WoW, so I'm happy they are implementing it this way here, and that the queues, at least for now, are short.

Cant wait for a similar PVP

Cant wait for a similar PVP game mode involving "shooting"

Something like a "2D counter strike" using diverse guns randomly distributed around a level.

Another good adition would be a "labyrinth" mode, where players need to find the exit as fast as possible in a monster infested labyrinth.

I believe 3 rings is making the right cal about PvP, people want to PvP almost right from the beginning, but wont stand a chance against older players if their gear mattered for the PvP

I personally love more the "minigame" approach.

I like the labyrinth

I like the labyrinth idea.

Players should get to choose from a preset list of gear setups. So that it's balanced for newbies and experienced players, leaving the only difference between players to be skill.

Then you have a maze setup, with monsters scattered about, and random items (heals, vials, etc).
Players each start separate, and have to find their way out within a time limit.
Players can't hurt each other, and can choose to work together if they like.
The exit should be a simple panel you stand on (so as not to be a big icon on the map... unless the minimap is removed for the mode).

The game ends when a player reaches the exit or when time runs out.
Scoring is based on how close the players are to the exit (measured by distance needed to walk out, not straight lines, as you might be on the other side of a wall from the exit, but would need a minute to run around to it).

And then they quit the game and come back after few days? Heard that story from the pay2win slideshow presentation made by one of the EA people that are behind Battlefield: Heroes.

it's probably lagging more

it's probably lagging more because it's new and everyone is playing it like what happened with IMF. once other games are added it might help spread the load a little and increase speeds.... i hope
