Display character name on the forums

Since RL $$ for CE happens, account security would be stronger if we used character names on the forums. =)

Also agreed. This issue has been brought up a lot now; all the more reason to implement a solution. It would be nice to have a general name on the forums - something separate from our account ID or Knight names (since we could switch Knights at any point, but we should not be able to switch forum names for obvious reasons).
With this, the only issue is: what if someone has a Knight named the same thing as your forum name? This could be an issue. Perhaps make the forum names undeniably distinguishable from Knight names with, say, a space character? I guess we could always just go with the way account names are structured, and then hope that someone hasn't taken that name as a Knight name.
If it were up to me, I would probably go with letting anyone choose from and array of characters: alphanumeric, spaces, dashes, and so on; similar to the way account names are structured. This is the way most companies seem to go.
Regardless, it would be nice to have a separate forum name, which would require registration upon accessing the forums for the first name.

No, KD, that's missing the point. By attaching our account names, it sets accounts up for easier attacks by someone trying to gain control of the account. Since I know your account name is "Kawaii_Desu", all I need now is your password, and I can cause all sorts of mischief.
A lot of forums get around this by having you choose an account name, and also a forum name, and not allowing the two to be the same.

I think what he meant was that you do choose a separate forum username, but it also displays your up-to-3 Knights as to avoid confusion with another Knight possibly being named the same thing as your forum name. All in all, yeah, it would be nice to have a totally separate name that is somehow utterly distinguishable from any Knight name.

Though a forum name would be neat, to have that not conflict with a Knight (character) name might impose a bit much name-camping. I think the implementation would be simple enough, to have someone upon login select a Knight to post as, be able to change that, and save that choice for future logins.
I think I would prefer selecting a Knight name to post under, since it would allow bazaar trade to be directed at the right character. And there's not really much harm if nobody knows that Knight1 and Knight2 are on the same account. I'm sure some people might want to keep that info confidential... like, say someone is hounded all the time for free stuff, and they want to socialize with their friends, they can just switch to a different Knight to do so. Having the forum post by Knight name, without account name, forum name, or all of their Knights listed, would allow someone to do that.

And also some people tend to not post their character names when trying to use the Bazaar to conduct business.
