Special Item - How does it work?

Would the GMs mind telling us how the special preview-exclusive item will be given out? Will we only be able to take it once on one knight on our account? Or will be able to get another one on each knight we create on our account, regardless of how many knights we have already accepted one on? OR, will it be some globally-available thing on our account that never really disappears even if all knights on that account are gone?

This would be useful to know so we don't go and delete the knight with our preview bonus item on it...

Thanks!

(Also: is there any way that we will be able to transfer a reserved name on one account, to another? Like, can you create the reserved name on the original account, delete that knight, and the name becomes available again? Or do we need to wait until the reservation time is up to take the name on another account? I'm just wondering because I made a new account I will be using instead of this one, due to the fact my ID is out in the open to anyone in the world. :P)

My best guess is that when

My best guess is that when you log on for the first time the item will be waiting in your inventory, sort of like the Super Bawl Crown appears. Like the Crown it will probably be auto-bound to that player. I'm fairly certain that the item is linked to the Account and not the Knight, so all Knights created on that account should always have it.

Hmm, I was wondering this as well, to an extent.

Hmm, I was wondering this as well, to an extent. Dogrock, your answer makes sense with the whole PvP Crown and such, but when we log on for the first time on Friday, there will be no Knights on our account... Or are you saying that the first Knight we create on that account will have it automatically, as well as every other Knight on that account that we create afterwards (they all have it in their inventory, even if you make a new one)?

How I understand is, that you

How I understand is, that you get this automatically when you create a new knight.
Your knights won't exist anymore, they're wiped. So it has to be when you create a new one.

Now for a more complicated question...

Now for a more complicated question:

For example, say I had a Knight named "Icarus" on my account "Aeca", but I want this "Icarus" on my new account "Aeca2", upon the release on Friday. Now the tricky part: I also want the special item on the Knight "Icarus" on the new account "Aeca2", instead of the old account "Aeca" the name was originally reserved for. Would this be possible? It would be, assuming what Dogrock says is correct. Otherwise, I'm not sure - it could get very complicated depending on the reservation restrictions, as well as how the special item is handed out.

Personally, I hope Dogrock is right and the special item is just available for a set period of time (or forever), on all preview accounts, and every time you make a new Knight. (AKA an account-shared item.)

I think this is exactly how it's going to be. You log in, in your inventory, and bound. And I think even similar to the Super Brawl Crown, we are looking at a purely cosmetic item, most likely a Hat meant to be equipped in the costume slot. Maybe a pet (snipe perhaps, mini jelly)? Who knows, but I think you are looking at an item that is strictly bound to your first Knight. From comments I've seen made in the past, you are really only expected to make 1 Knight.

No, the item is mailed every character on your account by April 4th and should be bound.

This is why I'm hoping it's more what Dogrock thinks it will be.

Mhm, Paska, but that would be unfortunate if you ever wanted a new name/colour, or just a new Knight in general. This is why I'm hoping it's more what Dogrock thinks it will be.

Regardless, yes, the special item should be bound. Otherwise this would eradicate every last bit of sentimentality it holds.

"Additionally, any player

"Additionally, any player with a preview event account will also receive a special in-game gift that will be given to any character created on that account." -Nick (Preview Event Grand Finale)

ANY character, meaning all 3 slots, and any new character should you decide to delete an existing character and replace it, no matter the time and date when it was created as long as the account it was created on existed during Preview. At least, that's what I understand from this.

Although I hope you're hypothesis is correct...

Hoogie,
Although I hope you're hypothesis is correct, I actually read that sentence in an entirely different way: "any" being any character of your choice, meaning you can accept the gift whenever you want but only once (perhaps from some exclusive previewer-related NPC that sticks around for a couple of months). This ambiguity is the exact reason for the thread.

All we need is a Dev to confirm exactly how this works, and our anxiety shall be put out.

But nick never said anything about just once.
He just said that any character on that account will get the gift.

Yeah, lets hope that's how it's meant to be read.

Yeah, lets hope that's how it's meant to be read. Maybe I'm just pessimistic, but I didn't think that "any" implied "every"... Hmm.

@Magnus: How do you know?

@Magnus: How do you know? People seem to have skipped over what you said - do you have a source or someone confirming it?

I, myself, would like to know how it works as well, I suppose!

Dev said it a while back in

Dev said it a while back in game.

I never say anything without some knowledge of it, and if people want to ignore that, it's fine. Don't terribly care.

Its Magic

Magically will appear in our inventory and magically be bound to us, and magically wont appear in kids who join after the preview event....thats just my view =).

That would be the optimal way.

That would be the optimal way of handing out these special items. Then the only question left is how one would go about using a name they have reserved on their old account, on a new account.

What's wrong with your old account?
A new account after launch isn't a preview account, it wouldn't get the special gift item.
You can't have the same name on two different knights.

I can't blame Krio's reasoning behind making a new account.

zangets00, how would it be a non-preview account if Kriomagnus already has it created? o_o Also, I can't blame Krio's reasoning behind making a new account: he/she doesn't want his/her login ID to be visible to the whole world, and he/she was not planning on trying to make a Knight with the same name, but rather rid of the reservation on the "old" account - both of these were stated in the original post.

And yes Shoebox, simply deleting and remaking a Knight to clear the reservation would be the optimal solution. It's what I too am hoping for.
