So after hearing 20 thousand people praise the antigua as a great weapon, I decided to run the JK about 10 times to get it. When I finally got it I was excited, only to use it and see that at max it does about 20 damage. This is extremely disappointing, what do people see in this gun? Even though it's got the split damage with elemental and piercing I do not see it being effective still as the damage even in the 5* upgrades are low compared to the other guns. I'm thinking of just going Needle or Gravitron as my secondary.
The Antigua- Is it really worth it?
I never use the antigua when I solo, I always take the pulsar. I do enjoy taking it to vana when I take 3 others along with me though. The mobility it provides is priceless.
The Antigua is a good gun for Swordmen and Bombermen, if they want one. Its nearly like normal damage, due the splittet damage. It has a high rate of fire and so it's not too worse. But as gunslinger it's totally crappy -.-'' The gun is not too bad in FSC against Varnaduke, but ø there are better weapons than the Antigua Series. They just look pretty cool *_*
But for Devilites, Wolver etc its a WORSE weapon! At T3 you can froget it, to kill them efficient. They allways dodge, your teammates will hate you, you will 90% miss em, you will suck. Get better a Callahan.
Its for VD, THATS IT. and only situation its superior to the callahan and the blitz is the explosive property/ability to damage monsters behind mist walls
Get it for FSC. Don't go needle. Go Magnus. I love my AP and it is great for FSC. AP is mainly the most used gun there because it deals split damage, both of which is effective there.
You prefer the Magnus over the Needle in FSC??? In FSC, where no evading mobs appear?? (expect some wolvers in the end)
WTF!? The Magnus deals there 200 damage per shot to a Trojan, the Needle deals 720 per load! Charged even 2400!!! Why the hell should i take a magnus in the FSC!?!? Even to the normal mobs i deal way more damage than with the Magnus. I just use the Magnus against Wolver, Devilites, Silkwing and some times against Gremlins. So plz tell me: why?
The Silversix deals max. 78 damage against Fiends / Undead, Stratum 6. 78 x 6 = 468. The Needle deals (i have in mind a bit more than 100, but lets say 100~) x 6 = 600. Just the Needle deals this in one load and the Silversix in 6 loads. The Needle shoots both clips at the same time as the Silversix shots the whole clip.
So you choice:
Silversix
DpC vs everything there -> 468 (can walk while shooting) (useless charge / suicide)
Needle
DpC vs undead -> 700+ (can't walk while shooting) (awesome charge -> deals near 1200 damage)~
DpC vs fiends -> 1200+ (can't walk while shooting) (awesome charge -> deals near 2000 damage)~
Haha. Xyonon really did his homework, huh?
Well, the way I see it... the Antigua line is used for its mobility, Elemental damage (which is great for FSC), and getting through those annoying barriers, also in FSC. Though the charge may look cool and is useful in some situations, you shouldn't really be using the Antigua charge in FSC because you can't move while using the charge (unless VD gets stuck or... something like that), which really leaves you open.
And that is the case with the Needle line, when you shoot, you can't really move. Thus is can prove bad against Greavers or Devilites, even though it is effective against them. Actually, it can prove to be bad in almost any situation; the monster just has to quick enough to hit you while you're a sitting duck for a few seconds. But I do NOT doubt that its damage is far greater than the Antigua line.
So, here you have a choice...
Antigua - more mobility, less DPS
Needle - less mobility, more DPS
Do you want to take more hits yet deal more damage or do you want to take less hits and deal a lesser amount of damage?
Well, that's the way I see it. I haven't taken the time to actually take a real look at it all but this is just my opinion.
Have some new facts for the Blitz Needle over Argent Piecemaker thing :D
The Blitz Needle shots double amount of bullets at the same time. This means you have the double chance to hit two mobs at the same time, by shooting between them. So you deal not 2x 6x 100 (=1200), you will probably deal 2x 9x 100 (=1800) for example. Sure the Piecemaker will do so too, but just half as often with half amount of bullets at the same time. How ever there is another thing to tell. The charge attack of the Blitz Needle will stun lock the target during the attack. So they won't be able to move while under attack. Also in FSC most mobs are slow and you will be able to inflict these 6 shots very easy. For me I even got Nameless set wich makes the shot-animation very short. I really rarely get hit at the FSC with the Blitz Needle. I think it depends how often you've played with that gun to know "i have enough time for one more clip or i dont have".
Against Greavers and Devilites and also Wolvers, you will deal not really good damage with the Needle, but even not with the Piecemaker. We are talking about the FSC, so there won't be these mobs (expect a couple wolver at the end). How ever, Callahan ( Magnus ) is a "must have" weapon anyway ;) You pwn Devilites and Wolvers hard, Greavers are allways not so easy...
No, it's not a good gun. Go Needle if you want a piercing damage gun. Or Callahan.
I can't recommend the Antigua or its upgrades to anyone, no matter how hard I try. If it had a pure piercing upgrade, I'd probably love it, but as of now, split damage sucks.
