Previously i brought up the idea of dueling and after hearing a few suggestions i decided to make a post and hopefully if it gets enough hype the rings will read it and consider it.
I want to implement a dueling system where 2 players can duke it out. As of right now no such system exists however what if you could right click someone and request to duel them?
Then BAM (if accepted) yall start fighting and show off your weapons and such. You can also hold bets, solve grudges, have little duel tournaments etc etc.
So originally i was thinking of implementing a duel system so that u can right click on someone ANYWHERE (haven, arcade, bazaar) however it was pointed out that this can cause mass nitrome and big angry bomb trolling and just interfears with the social/marketing portion of the game.
then i thought... What about the training arena? Currently people go in there to show off weapons and try them out on those little robot box critters. so why not make it so that 2 people can go ahead and fight each other in there also?
then there is the issue of space... the training arena serves as a place for new players to get to understand the fundamentals of the game
So low and behold my idea expand the training arena (or just remake it) with what it already has and 2 new very important features!
The tiny room that summons shufflebots should be expanded so that u can fight more shuffle bots at once and actually have space to try your new toys out. when i say expand i mean like take the current size and make it 5-7 times bigger with more shuffle bot spawns. Also vamp up the shuffle bots so u can actually have to worry about dying. BUT since u can revive at no cost in there instantly death shouldn't matter. Also have an arena like room where people can just fight each other.
The shuffle bot room should be mist fenced but the arena not really because...
If dueling is implemented in such a way, then it should be allowed anywhere in the training hall. My image of it is this...
A asks B for a duel.
B accepts duel.
A certain radius forms between the players like (10 box radius) where the fight must take place. (this prevents people from running all day while ur chasing them down, also promotes ring out tactics)
They fight
A wins
*VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: if your weapons did there actual damage the duels would end in like 1-2 hits, so i demand a % reduction modifier in duels this way there is an actual fight going on. it lets u do a little strategizing and make comboes up. however damage should be proportional to the weapon so a 5* weapon would do more than a 2* but since damage is reduced the 2* weapon holder can potentially beat the 5* weapon user with strategy.
New feature: When u right click a player u can see there number of wins and number of losses and a ratio. Its not a pvp ranking its a personal score. And... it should be non resetable!
This is just a rough idea of wut i think should be added to this game. feel free to make suggestions, clarifications, ideas, etc, etc
Lets bring dueling to this game!
Interesting idea, I like it, especially the part where the ring forms at the start of a duel.
although I see a few problems like mass amount of rings forming everywhere but the basic idea is told, a space for people to be able to duel each other
Instead how about making a duel room where people and kill and shoot each other but make a system that only two people and go in at a time
here is the system i'm thinking
first there is two step switches and two gates. each switch will open a gate right in front of it. At the other side of the gate there is another foot switch that will close the gate behind you. So, two people are in a room and start fighting, after one of them dies (obviously free revivable) a third gate opens for the players to leave where they both started from.
(after I wrote this I immediately found some problems about letting only two people enter, but you get my idea)
