Period of Time after release to get names

How long is that period of time, when the game releases, to make the characters with the names we had before?
The Wiki stats this:
"The game will reopen to preview players on April 1st at 2pm PDT. You will have a period of time to create knights using the knight names from your account. The forums and wiki will still be accessible while you wait to begin the adventure anew!"

I will update the notice when I get an actual date for it. Not actually hiding it from you all, just don't have it yet...
No definite amount of time was ever given, but short describes a day or three.
Equinox, is there any chance that you know if using our name and deleting the Knight will free the name?

Well that cleared things up
@equinox If you could do that would help me greatly ^_^
(lock... or just stop talking.... idk what it is on SK forums... lolz)

Just in case you didn't see the announcement thread, you will have until April 11th to reclaim your reserved names. I'm checking to see if that means by the end of April 11th or the beginning of it.
I've updated the wiki notice accordingly and have also added a little page about the reserved names. You can look at the page here: http://wiki.spiralknights.com/Reserved_names
Thank you Equinox! This clarifies a lot of things.
One last question though, if you don't mind answering:
Is it only the slots with reserved names that get the full PE gift? Or does any Knight ever created on the account get it, even if it is an "Empty" slot? I'm basically asking, if you moved a reserved name to another account would the Knight with that name on the new account still get the full PE gift/benefit?

@ Aeca
IT is any Knight created on the account. If you were a player during the Preview event, you shall get it.
I just read the announcement again:
"Be sure to also check your Arsenal for a special set of Preview Event items. Every knight created on a Preview Event account will receive these items."
and the word "Every" would imply "every" Knight, not just the reserved ones.... right?
It's just that this special "reserved slot" business makes me a tad paranoid. As in, maybe these reserved slots are special or something, because they were the actual Knights created during the PE. We'll see in less than a day.
Someone hit me.
I was wondering about the wording used myself. When he says "knight" is he referring to a character that was made during the beta or is he referring to the player?
Edit: I have some friends that I wanted to play with on the 1st so I sent them invites. They made accounts but never launched the game.

Questions about the special preview items will have to wait for answers from Nick or finding out for yourselves when the game reopens for you tomorrow. That's not one of the things I was able to test, so I'm going to let it be a surprise to me tomorrow as well. However, from the wording, it does sound like it's all the knights of a preview player account.
I wonder, if I for example, months in the future, made a 2nd knight on my account, it'd get the item or not; whether it's the account date or knight date (within the few days of testing here? and if it's account date, even then might be have the items removed for beta players anyway at a later point for new accounts, etc.)
I would guess reasonable amount of time was given to us so 2 weeks to 1 month max.
