I want the beta PvP back

Emotionless

I know this will probably be moved to suggestions but whatever. I was watching the youtube videos of the old beta PvP and it simply looks amazing compared to the current PvP for many different reasons. I for one do not like the current PvP because it really lacks customization and it gets old really fast. Second, it really lacks concrete strategy, all it is IMO is a chaotic spamfest where the guy just puts a crapload of bombs and then proceeds to spawn kill everyone. This is just my opinion although feel free to state your exp with current PvP. I know OOO will be coming out with some more PvP variants but I highly doubt they will be like beta PvP, and more arcade game style.

Of course when someone ever talks about beta PvP people complain about balance issues, saying that one guy will come with divine avenger and automaticly win. I have a solution for this.

Match the players according to what tier they are in. The scoring system and leader board point systems are not a problem the way they are now and would work fine if this was integrated. So technically a T1 player could be higher in the leader boards than persay a T3 player because each tier level would award the same amount of exp points for leader board. This can also work for teams and guild matches not just for FFA

T1 plays T1 players
T2 plays T2 players
T3 plays T3 players

This is just a hypothesis tell me what you guys think

I'm sure the developers

I'm sure the developers haven't discarded the "brawl" mode for PvP but most likely are polishing it.

As you said the best way to implement this would be to either limit the "star" equipement you can use on a battle (for example, channel 1* allows you to enter only if you have 1* equipement or less) or to limit bonuses on the swords (for example, all ASI CTR and Damage bonuses are negated and a leviathan only does slightly more damage than a calibur).

I personally love the minigame approach more, but I guess older players deserve to "show off" their hard earned stuff to other players face.

I hope egos don't start skyrocketing after "brawl" PvP mode is released... (like in so many action MMOs)

Polishing? More like mad fixing.

I didn't like brawl. Run up, Gran Faust Slash, run back, get Gran Faust Slash'd, repeat. No room for bombs, guns were useless, as long as you had one sword and a good internet connection, you would always lose. It's probably why it's still not out, because the developers like keeping things on an even playing field and I think they want to emphasize this is a team-driven game. Blasting each other's brains out with bombs is fun, but all you need is a crisp 200crown. If we were to start Brawl like it was in the beta, who do you think would be able to play? :(

I'm totally pulling numbers out of the air here, but it feels like 80% of Knights are either Tier 2 or Tier 1, while the other 20% play casually and not very often. There's such drastic changes in the middle of Tier 2 as well, changing guns, armor, and equipment to prepare for Tier 3, that by the time they get into it they need to then build new items for Tier 3!

There's a mess of reasons why Brawl isn't out yet, but I'm just gonna go with "unbalanced."

PvP...

I would like to see this type of actual PVP, too.

And I even have the solution for the "unbalanced" issue:
at the beginning of the brawl, every player get some kind of a "default" gear (just like we all get the exact same "default" bomb for this bomberman "pvp" game). That way, brawls wouldn't be a matter of who has stronger weapon/better equip.
There could have different types of brawls - sometimes with guns only, sometimes with swords only, sometimes with both... or something like that.

I think that would work just fine.

I agree that FFA is chaotic,

I agree that FFA is chaotic, and that is the reason i play Team exclusively. There is too much luck factor involved in FFA and its usually like that in games that have FFA. Team doesn't have as much spam in the start and you don't have to run away from every bomb you see, yours including. And since there is less spam there is less performance problems, less deaths and more strategy. Sure, your teammates can suck but that doesn't mean you can't carry them even if one of your party members leaves the match shortly after it starts. And with my latency i know i would never get on Brawl unless they'd add some weapons/armor exclusive to it but even then i'd have a hard time to get myself to play this brainless hack&slash fest. Thank god Spiral Knights is unique in everything so we just got one cool minigame for now and hopefully more to come.
