I guess to further delve into this question. Is the Wiki just not up to date on these then? Are these two helmets one and the same or its a series of helms ranging in stars then?
further than kats, they dropped from mewkats which did nothing but be cute =P
As far as I know no one I asked is familiar with the purple kat hats.

The Magikat hat is something completely different from that purple kat hat as far as I know.
The only one that had it (and the person that updated the wiki last) was Icarus.
This is very intriguing. I think its going to become my mission to find these hats. They just look so cool, especially the purple one, I can only imagine they offer some good bonuses with their rarity.
That was called the Feral Kat Hood, back in the last preview.

That's part of the magikat hat series.
A helmet that used to drop exclusively from Kats (the ghost cats that shoot and bite) apparently.
Also before the wolver series got their art updates, the wolver caps were the mewkat hats as far as I knew.
