Reason why because a one star can be upgraded to five star is rediculus. They have to balance the shield and we peons and armor in SK.I suggest to ditch the blazeBreak shield and armor go to A owlitte shield and colbat or wolver.
Gerry, the blazebreak line is 1-3 stars so it is hardly "rediculus" to add a 4 and 5 star option. No star skipping would be necessary.
But BigFootM is likely right, there are a number of armor and shield sets which purposely stop at 3*. Presumably they are meant to be easily acquired situational items that are useful for the beginning knight. But in reality they end up being new player traps since they cannot be upgraded past 3*.
If you already have the shield, I would suggest hanging onto it in the hopes that a higher star version will someday come out. Or perhaps they'll create a shield costume slot which has been suggested so many times before.
If you don't have this shield line yet, invest in another that goes to 5*.
No weapon or item can be upgraded consecutively from 1* to 5*. This decision was most likely made due to the ease at which 1* items can be cheaply mass-crafted for UVs.
Probably the only reason they let the Haze Bomb get away with it for so long... is that there's really only one useful UV for the chemical bombs. And... now the Haze Bomb is 2* as well.
Besides, the ___break shields are made from freaking Proto Shields.
I like that they have these so-called "new player traps", as they encourage research and use of forums/wiki.
The first sword I upgraded to 3* was the... Cautery Sword. >_< Back then it was the only upgrade for Brandish so it must be good for the Jelly King. Right? Right? *sigh*
When I do the occasional T1 run I'm so sad to see many of the knights using 1* weapons or armors. Such a sad waste of energy, everyone should skip 1* and craft something that starts at 2*.
I'm assuming not.
