The ones from the merchant are not bound until you wear them. The rare ones are bound on acquire, to lure people into bribing. If you want those I'd suggest you to afk join about 100 free for all matches. I will try it out myself and report if I got anything out of this. Need the coins to buy some mod modules.

@atg8, the rare ones weren't bound on acquire a day ago. 000 changed that to see how many players will try to get it otherwise. Turns out their bomberman ripoff wasnt as popular as they hoped.
