As you all know, SK is practically brand new. While there is plenty of content to improve and add on, it's definitely not going to happen overnight. So that's why I ask (and cause I'm bored as crap), what do you think SK will be like in a few years? What items, bosses, etc. do you hope to see? What do you think will happen to the CE market? Do you think SK will even make it that long? I'm feeling uncreative right now so feel free to bring up some new topics! Bring up ANYTHING, it doesn't even have to be realistic!

And if you feel lazy like me, in lieu of reading the tiny paragraph above, what do you want/think SK to be like in the far future?

I think SK in the far future

I think SK in the far future will be:

100+ swords,100+guns,100+bombs and over 500 armours.
5-6 bosses
We can enter the core , but in the core there will be even more deeps (something like 50-60)
10-11 bosses in the core .
thats what i think ^^

in a couple of years? in the category of games a handful of people still play but noone really cares about anymore.

using java is bad enough and with the rather dull gameplay which is basically repeating the same thing over and over with each depth, i doubt 100 swords/guns/bombs will cut it if there's no other means of progression than gear.
i like the game because it reminds me a bit of zelda (and now bomberman lol) but that's it.

Given that Puzzle Pirates remains immensely popular, I just can't see yusyus's scenario playing out. OOO will certainly be trying their hardest to prevent that from happening.

One of the many flaws in

One of the many flaws in arcade-style game is that with each update, gears/skills get essentially more and more overpowered, like incorporating a tuckload of flashy high-damaging, large radius aoe attacks which potentially trivialize the gameplay, if there's any in the beginning.

I think it will be an interesting and fun game that I will have played off and on and had fun doing it.

This isn't Highlander...there can be many good games....

In fact you can even play more than one of them at a time...

And I'll let you in on a secret....

Spiral Knights is free...

If you get bored stop playing, if you're having fun then keep playing. If you were bored and think something has changed come back and try it again.

Personnally I would agree with you I prefer Firefall over Torchlight, but I was talking about flushing SK gamers away, and I'm not sure that people playing a Zelda-like game would switch more to Firefall (a FPS/RPG) than to Torchlight which is way closer to SK.

I don't see it lasting for years I mean frankly they can add more and more but isn't every update going to be just about the same as everything already in the game? They can add new bosses, levels, and monsters but those things will all lose their flavor after such a short time since everyone will jump on the former two the second the come out. If the latter one happens too much then everything will just be crazy inside levels, you'll probably never know what you'll get. They could add some super-powered tier 4 (without the introduction of stronger gear) to help challenge players but even that may become old. The gameplay is really too repetitive to stick around for too long.

They can only do so much with weapons. They'd need to be really innovative to keep things moving. The Pulsar and Catalyzer were definitely steps toward this but how long could it possibly last?

The only thing that really comes to mind is if they bring back that old style of PvP they had, since that would cause people to just always want the best gear and constantly play to get it. They'd need new features to the game itself to keep it going strong.

Puzzle Pirates has *never* been been immensely popular. It's gotten some very good press for a niche game but it's always been a niche game. http://www.glowie.com/~onyx/PPAT/PPAT.php puts the maximum number of concurrent users at somewhere around the 9,000 mark in 2009 (and that's assuming that all oceans hit their maximum for the year at the same time, an unlikely event).

Also, population counts on all oceans are noticeably down. The subscription oceans have been hit particularly hard.

My guess is that bang howdy will be worse off than whirled which will be worse off than spiral knights which will be worse of than puzzle pirates. Puzzle pirates had more depth, a better economy, more play style choices and harder to get to the end-game during its beta than spiral knights has now.

spiral knights needs one of those new fangled "relaunches" when the game is in its prime and we'll see a ton of people picking it up and playing it.

deny it all you like but SK's gameplay is revolutionary. i am a hardcore pvp/semi-pro fps gamer and i cannot STAND pve games, ESPECIALLY mmorpgs. but this game has all the right mechanics and does it all really well. it just speaks to the massive appeal this game COULD have, if the company handled their business a little better.

if this game can interest me, it can interest anyone. never in a hundred years did i think i'd be alternating between quake live(hardcore fps shooter with community that makes 4chan look good) and spiral knights (super carebear pve fun)

BTW there is a free to play 3d MMO on facebook. Godswar I think. I just don't understand how those guys are making money.

Honesty, this game has great potential but, the developers need to come up with really good expansions and all that good stuff. If they play there cards right , they might pull it off and make spiral knights more enjoyable then now.

uhhh i think i see...

uhhh i think i see the Core Finally Open to everyone! with more Levels to explore and more different monsters to kill not just randomly generated monsters, but all new ones and a different look to every level, because at the moment they are all the same just only random generated every time you go in.
its the same old the same old. i see more Lag like all ways! because SK Servers sucks every time they make a update! three Rings Need more servers in America and in Europe. because like you see the game is getting bigger and better and more players are join every day... that means more lag if three rings dont get more servers to Sega Europe.
well im playing SK Since Beta and every thing is the same old same.. old just, generally random and thats sucks and boring if you ask me....
well keep on the grate work OOO Three Rings! and i will continue playing this grate game with Lag!
