I knew I recognized your name from somewhere but I wasn't sure if I went through a dungeon with you or not. Anyway spamming bombs like hell is the way that this "Instead, assist people who are setting lots of bombs in a line in suiciding." becomes possible. I always laugh when someone is setting up a line of bombs and I just place one so that they're trapped between two blocks, my bomb, and their bomb.

Also as a general tip, don't place a bomb down when you think you're trapped (if you KNOW you're trapped its a different story) I can't tell you how many times I've made someone kill themselves by cornering them with a bomb that had a firepower of 1. The people were stupid and placed their own bomb down which wound up killing them. Suicide doesn't work since priority goes to the first bomb placed so placing that bomb at all was pointless and only resulted in suicide.

A simple tip is to place bombs where they're fire has the most place to spread while also trying your best to make sure there's no safe spot from the bombs. You literally want to place bombs so they can blow up and cross each other. Simply placing 4 bombs after each other isn't too helpful since two of them will be useless, leave some space between them and fill in the gaps. If you can manage to place your bombs in a square then you're set but this is already hard enough with the time it takes to set, let alone you'll have to find a safe spot.

Also there's the double bomb trick where you can set one bomb, walk down a few spaces and place another and wait for the first to explode. The first blast will fly upward and anyone hiding may be foolish enough to walk out which is where the second bomb's blast will start coming up and by the time they see it they'll die. This is also helpful for those purple crystal blocks since the first will destroy the block but the second will go on its regular path.

Most importantly, don't set bombs unless you can find a safe spot first or you're just setting yourself up for suicide.

Another good note is to realize how the scoring works. If you're tied with another played at the end of the game it may be better for you to just worry about NOT getting killed. If they get killed they'll boost your score while there's stays the same while you dieing has the opposite effect. The prize when the score is tied goes to the player with the fewest deaths so not dieing is a plus all the time. It may be worth it to try and get an extra kill or so (especially if the other player is on a rampage) but you need to make sure you don't get yourself killed.

I mean the game is simple and spamming bombs can work but there's a lot better chances for you if you worry about bomb placement and actually surviving during the battle. I'm also pretty sure Halifix beat me down everytime we played so yeah... lol

Well if you're at the top of the battelfield then you have a problem since your vision downward is askew. This is where I really like the different colors since I can easily keep track of whose got high firepower and watch their movements on the mini map.

And trust me DrLequack there's people who are bad enough at this game that tips would be good for them. I realize you don't like the game but that doesn't mean you have to badmouth the people who do. Just let everyone go with their own opinions.

I watched a documentary about Sun Tzu's "Art of War". It went into the book and showed how it can be applied to games like this and in war. From it, I've gathered some steps and tips that helped me win. However, if not implemented, a loss is almost guaranteed (which I've experienced many times).

STEPS
1. Get power-ups as fast as you can by placing bombs steadily and accordingly (don't place them where you'll be trapped yourself, don't place them too quickly). If none come your way, then focus on dodging as many attacks as possible to gain a lot of range when the board begins opening up (crates are destroyed). This is where reflexes come to play, even if you experience lag. (Sun Tzu's preparation and quick-thinking is implemented. NEVER plant bombs before you're ready to strike). The killing will begin if you have enough upgrades (see step 2).

2. Once you have full upgrades for bomb and speed AND have at least 6 range in your blasts, place your bombs where it can target the most people and still exclude yourself. For example, placing a bomb at a clear cross intersection is much more effective than placing it at a dead end (Sun Tzu always says no to random placements of weaponry and says yes to careful placement). Like what other posters say, try L formations or + formations and connect the bomb's range of attack to maximize range.

STEPS/TIPS
3. Never lose morale. Morale is key to victory. If you give up easily early on, then you'll definitely lose. You technically have a chance to come back if you die and are only down by 1 point at the very start. Just revive quickly and focus on implementing steps 1 and 2. (Sun-Tzu knows that having the will to win is key).

4. Don't get distracted by ANYTHING. The points, the jumping audience, people messaging you, NOTHING should distract you from winning. You can do all that while you're dead. (Sun-Tzu always promoted distracting the enemies with decoys, so don't get distracted by them yourself). Being distracted leads to greater chances of death by a bomb with a large range.

5. Luck always plays a role in winning, from receiving an AFKer to striking on other people's mistakes to other people having lag issues. If you don't take those chances, it'll be the difference between 1st and 3rd. (Sun-Tzu: take your chances by considering people's weakness and strike at will).

TIPS:
1. Ensure that you can complete Step 1 in 2 minutes. You will almost always lose if you don't.
2. When you see bombs, assume that it has maximum range (15). Don't take chances by standing in its line of fire; you don't know how far the bomb can go. Hide away from it and come out after the blasts.
3. Ensure that you can begin a wide-spread chain reaction when setting your bombs. It will complete Step 2 most efficiently.
4. Make sure you can trap the other player in a corner with your bomb at the early stages without endangering your life. It's a way to gain early points while you're still upgrading (from other people's posts).

I just do my best to not die while laying three bombs at a time when it's safe. I have specific patterns I use to throw people off; I time them oddly so that two go off and the third will catch somebody else off guard.

I shouldn't say this but...

Delaying bombs and criss-crossing explosion

Put one bomb, run straight at the opposite side, lay one down, move 3 blocks in the opposite direction you came (basically continuing your path) lay a bomb

Watch people get mad

First one goes off, detonate the 2nd one on the opposite side which goes back the other way as a decoy, the 3rd one always hit.

Given your bombs are 10+ power and you have 5 speed and 3 bombs...

L shape madness

Start at the bottom right of the L, bomb, go left 2 blocks, bomb, up 2 blocks, bomb, up 2 blocks, bomb, wait for the first to detonate and go in front of you, go where the blast was and move out of the way of the last bomb before it detonate

Really hard to do and require a good connection but no one can get close to you w/o dying. Can be done in any way, just always start with the foot of the L and you will be fine

You are your own enemy in this tactic

Diagonal shapes!

Just put some bombs in a linear, diagonal way, the detonation will always be separate so it's random... you can alternate bombs sometime, go for the fist one then the third one to trace back to the 2nd and put the last one

Mix things up a little.

After 3-4 minutes just switch style, people will get caught off guard by your unusual moves. Seems silly but it's effective

Like you don't lay bombs for 2-3 minutes so everyone understood you are the evasive guy, you can get double and triple kill easily that way ^ ^

I usually play random teams... so IDK if they work in FFA :S
