i have a chroma set because i want to do primarily jk runs/t2 for a while. i had dusker set, but im just sick of alll the wolver/dusker in game despite how good it is(cuz i use 2 swords). i understand the use of costume armor, thats just a bunch of crafting so i switch completely to the chroma line. so the questions is between salamander and virul which should i pick/was i just stupid for getting rid of my dusker?/ ouhgt i switch to sword/gun insted of sword/sword?

If I could, I'd trade my Vog
If I could, I'd trade my Vog for Virulisk. haha Breeze through those jelly levels even faster and safer, and then make the money back and more and just get Vog again. No real reason to go t3 instead of RJ imo.

Take what FernPanda says with a grain of salt; the ASI is great and all, but considering how this game works, you might die 19 times over a given time instead of 20, which in turn will probably not mean much in a party... If you love slow swords though and get hit a lot in the recovery time, the Vog will give you much more room for error.
I, personally, have both Vog and V-Salamander, and I if there were no such thing as a costume slot I'd use my Volcanic Salamander even though the Vog is "Better" (well, V-Sal actually lets me 1-hit D19-21 Toxigels with my Gran Faust, lmao). If you want the chroma line suits because they look awesome, ALL POWER TO YOU.
In summary: the difference isn't that much unless you REALLY need that little boost if you're spamming DA or something *COUGHFSCCOUGH*.
However, between Virulisk and Salamander, it depends... For T3, Virulisk isn't very practical, as it has piercing/normal. I can't even remember the last time I died to Slimes or Beasts other than in a danger room (poison lichen room... *shivers*), but even with my elemental defense, I still die more often to Constructs etc than anything else, including fiends. If you want to spam-farm RJ though... Virulisk will make it a breeze.

Chroma is too situational if
Chroma is too situational if you want something with +dmg go skolver it has sword dmg to everything. If you make the investment to go 5* chroma you will regret it. I hate being a wolves clone to and I know you hate costume armor just craft some 2* costume till you can afford to waste CE on it have patience. Chroma is way to sPecialized to one monster type when on jelly runs you will see 2+ monster types atleast depending if you start at d13 or earlier. That's not even considering when yOu get tired of jk and are stuck with +slime gear and have to start a new set anyway. Think long term have patience and get the gear that will be most beneficial always. I have multiple sets of gear but it wasn't always so and even though in my only jk run days I considered chroma and have recipes for it I never made it and am glad I didnt I have way better sets that work everywhere.
It's not totally lost yet, Salamander is marginally useful in FSC... though it's no Vog :|
Yeah actually don't waste your money and rebuild your Wolver line... the short term cost of buying duskers (about 30k) will be far cheaper than when you get the Salamander line and regret it. Alternatively you can build Virulisk and run JK forever... Sealed Swords are not cheap to sell y'know...
