I like the updates, and that
I like the updates, and that you don't have to be like level 80 to make a difference in a 4 man team. Game is still kinda new, but patches are making it more balanced as time goes on.

The ONLY thing I dislike is the SK economy. A lot of things are far overpriced, and take forever to obtain through crafting. Not to mention CE purchases should be a set amount, rather than rising, and dropping from second to second. But excusing that minor bit..... I really love this game. I was rather unsure about the game, at 1st, but boredom lead me into giving the game a shot. I was rather impressed with the game, after the 1st few minutes. It took me to a familiar place nestled between LoZ, and Gauntlet. (2 games I grew up playing quite a bit of.) And the fact that I was able to play this game online with my close friends only made this game that much better than it already was.
All my friends, and I do is talk about this game. It's been about 2 months since we've all started playing it, and we're still just as hooked on it as we were on the 1st day we started to play together. It's a fantastic game. A bit buggy....... but it's excusable.
Bottomline. OOO did a really great job with this game. I'd highly recommend it to anyone.

I HATE the way its hypocritely distributed to some other countries, behind the illusion that they're getting the same content and enjoyment of the game, when its actually rather like that: poor translation, poor language level of the dedicated staff, very poor quality of the connection. The first two aren't such an issue, those get fixed with time. But the 3rd is hardly tolerable.

Errr well that's the hypocricy you see..if its being distributed in other countries, its not especially to please us, its only commercial. Its not really the kind of things you'd give credits for. Games distributed in other countries got proper translation (usually made by local staff), proper moderation (usually handled by a staff local to that same country) and a local server, its like that in plenty online games. The content is very good and I think developpers know that, but you have to understand when you're given a sort of uncomplete, flawed version, the effect is extremely different for the player.

Back to the forum, I love SK! I heard about it from Yahoo, when looking for some games to play, and when I saw this game, I started to get addicted to it! I love the variety and the teamwork that's involved. This game isn't overwhelming so you know what you're doing, and it has a lot of puzzles and monster battles, kind of like the Legend of Zelda, which I also enjoy. OOO is trying its hardest and we're all grateful for it, because who doesn't like being a Spiral Knight?

Since the beginning, Spiral Knights has not really disappointed me in anything. When I started playing I thought, 'hey an MMO that takes actual skill AND is free' and went off to find out how much skill matters by dying a whole heap.
Nowadays I'm rocking on with dauntless delver and I'm still impressed by how much skill can matter in this game. The idea that it's not your character that levels up but rather your own abilities at playing the game just gives it endless replayability even when you've experienced all the content.
The accessories seem like a nice touch too. I'll be sure to check them out once I've finished getting all the gear I want.
Just in case no one has reminded you recently, Spiral Knights is an absolute masterpiece. =D

Thank you, Three Rings, for giving me so many hours of entertainment, mostly for free. (I've spent a bit of money along the way.) I've played over 720 hours now. 720 hours at the movies would cost perhaps $3600 (2 hours per movie, $10 per movie). Not every minute in Spiral Knights is as good as a good movie, but in any case Spiral Knights is a great deal.
I don't have enough money to get a Shadow Key, so I'll be playing Shadow Lairs rarely if ever. If a lot of people are like me, then maybe you'll lighten the cost. But if a lot of people do shell out for Shadow Keys, then you won't lighten the cost. Even then, I'll have nothing to complain about.

Well, while I did put in a complaint on the recent update, a rather HEFTY one (yes, I'm one of THOSE people) I still feel obligated to thank OOO for giving me a reason to stick with an MMO for 4 months, despite the fact that I hate WoW and all other massive gamer grinding time-sinks with a mighty passion. And yes, I still plan to stick around.
Three Rings, you have my deepest gratitude for making such a fun and exciting experience out of this game. Yes, I have quite a few complaints. But you know what? I wouldn't have any complaints if I didn't care about this game. And I only care about it because it's worth it. And it's only worth it because of the many many many hours put in by you and your team. Thanks again, and I look forward to all new content and games coming from OOO.

I very much enjoy SK. The gameplay is well thought out, with good level design, and I like that it's predominantly cooperative. I'd have paid for the game as a paid game, but thoroughly enjoy that I don't have to spend $$ unless I want to.
The only aspect I don't like are the elements of gambling. I'd prefer those elements to be more deterministic.

As an experienced complainer let me just say that the fact someone complains about something does not mean they hate it. On the contrary, since our participation in this game is entirely voluntary, the fact that we keep playing DESPITE having things we don't like just goes to show how much we like the game as a whole. Feedback is how we as the community help develop the game. Like Orangeo said, it's tough love, and I absolutely resent being called a "whiner" and part of the "worst representatives" of the community just for being vocal.
That being said, there's plenty on which to commend the developers, and indeed all of the staff. The music and artwork, just to name a few things, are amazingly well done and beautifully polished. The gameplay is simple yet fast-paced and fun, with a real progression in difficulty to keep you challenged as you become more experienced. There are things that need work, to be sure, but every update shows real investment and effort from the devs to fix issues while still being able to release new content, and the involvement they have with the community (in particular the forum admins who interact with players in more ways than just locking threads and dishing out bans) is beyond awesome.
So my hat's off to you guys. Well done. And just remember: we hurt you because we love you. <3

This is definitely a great game!
Like the rest, I absolutely adore this game. I got tired of it after playing for 3 months (nothing new really going) and I just came back yesterday. I was absolutely surprised with the massive changes which in my opinion were all for the better. I can't wait to see what will happen in the next few months or years, but I'm sincerely going to stick around and see what more they can do for this game.

I haven't read all of this thread, but wanted to post quickly to show my support.
I started playing SK for the TF2 hat, and now I play it FAR more than TF2.
Great game, lots of fun, with a (mostly) great community.
Sure there are things I don't like, or think could get more polish, but by and large it doesn't matter because the game is fun, and that's what matters.
The other day, I was going to post a big (not ranty, but long) post about the Shadow Keys in the big thread there, stating my opinion, but I ended up deleting it. I realized that aside from the Dev team (and the haters,) lots of people wouldn't have bothered to read it, and the general idea of it was that the Dev team knows what they are doing, and has something in mind with additions that they make that (often) the players aren't aware of even until AFTER it is done with. The dev team already knows this, so there was no need to post it, and the ones complaining wouldn't have listened anyways.
Like many, I don't especially like some of the new changes, but I trust that the Dev team is going somewhere with them and I am happy to give changes a chance as long as they aren't game-ruining.
We already know how cool the guys who petitioned against the new content, and then were the first to play it look right now. Just goes to show that sometimes it pays off to keep your mouth shut about something you don't like until you are informed enough to make a decision.
I'm glad that this thread popped up, so that I can show my support here, since I can't afford show it by buying some CE from time to time. :(

It's just that I get annoyed that I find that there are a dozen topics that all complain about a single issue.
