been gone for 2 weeks and this game went downhill :/
So its been 2 weeks since i last logged on.. And what the hell happened?
Their so called "PVP" is just a knock off of bomberman ? I hope they get in trouble ! Lol
And whats with these new trinkets? Med ctr and med asi trinkets..? Really? That just ruined the very high uv market .. Not that it wasnt already bad with the uv shop.
Well On the bright side, the games content is accessable to every player now (gear wise)
But now the entire market is pretty horrid.. Unless ur good at rolling double/triple uvs..
Overall I feel like this game is going downhill from what it used to be.. And others agree with me. That is all lol. What do u guys think?
Ps. DRAGON NEST FTW

Maybe you should go away for 2 weeks and not come back.
Ichiban2Go, do you always switch games when you stop being successful at them?
The logic is quite simple. Trinket slots cost CE, making the trinkets costs CE.
Add good trinkets - CE gets used. Real money gets spent, and the company makes money.
I find the business model viable. I don't care about high UV items so much that I would throw a tantrum over it.
If you don't like it, get the same things as UV's and save some CE.
This will probably cut the best single UV things costs down quite a bit, but they are still good. Use the UV to max damage (or whatever) and get another mod instead for IAS or CRT or whatever is then missing.
I always love "and others agree with me"
uhm...others agree with me that humans shouldn't be wearing clothes, that was a horrible update 10.000 years ago...and I'm still rooting for it to be abolished...but meh...who'll listen... I think humanity is going downhill since clothing came along.

@Ichiban2Go
The PVP is brilliant. If you think otherwise WoW has taught you the wrong things about PvP apparently.
Reading above link will help you understand why many players enjoy Spiral Knights PvP (generally this article is about good PvP (SF) and bad PvP (WoW)). Some of the most importent things are:
"- A fair game does not give material advantages to one player over the other.
- Time invested should count for nothing in a fair game. It might take 1 hour to learn a few nuances and gain a certain level of skill. The hours don't matter; only the knowledge and skill matter.
- It's ok to bring to the game a) more knowledge than your opponent about the nuances of the game, and b) more skill than your opponent.
- Finally, playing a fair game is what it's all about. It would never occur to us to play a game where one player gets to do 50% more damage because he has a level 60 Chun Li."
I think SK has all those features that makes PvP fair and enjoyable.
and last but not least:
"Overall I feel like this game is going downhill from what it used to be.. And others agree with me."
Others do not agree with you.
Of course some people agree with you.
Heck, I could say burn all churches down and stop worshipping an imaginary guy in the sky, and I would have others that agree with me.
You can say nearly everything, somebody WILL agree with you.
But somebody will disagree with you.
Thanks for the link, merethif! That was an interesting read.
Now we need a way to lessen the lags in PVP so we don't need to grind our location to a level near the servers ;-)
merethif works for OOO :)
@merethif did u read the article?
or even what u quoted there?
Blast network awards ppl that play more time not who has skills...
its even worse than wow, cuz the base points are so high, compared to what u gain from ea kill.

Shoebox is onto something you should try out his advice.

I noticed after Pvp was added now CE is like 5350 crowns or something close to that.I don't like the modules because maybe that's the reason ce got higher.If they keep adding modules or something like more trinket ce is going to be very expensive.

@angelgod

Meh... I'm just trolling a little.
@angelgod
Blast network awards ppl that play more time not who has skills...
I’m afraid I can't agree. Players that are playing for ages has exactly the same abilities then players who have just created account. It’s not like you get extra blast radius or movement speed bonus from some leveled-up 5* gear that one can obtain ONLY after farming Vanaduke for weeks or that can be purchased ONLY with real money.
@CeCeeS
Now we need a way to lessen the lags in PVP so we don't need to grind our location to a level near the servers ;-)
Lol, you're right. Surprisingly lags are not that terrible in my case (at least so far) so I’m able to enjoy Blast Network (as far as I’m able to enjoy PvP at all). Sadly I can’t say the same about Ironfang Munitions Factory which I’m unable to play other way then solo (and even then it’s awfully laggy) :-(
@angelgod - "Blast network awards ppl that play more time not who has skills..."
Wrong? You could play 24 hours a day, every day, and have no material advantage at all over someone who plays for 30 minutes a day. Sure, you'd have more experience and practice but that's true about any game.
The only benefit a person gets from playing for inordinate amounts of time is a spot on the leader board, which is totally meaningless.

Gerry wtf are you smoking
I bought energy for 5005 cr
Do you even play?

Just becuase I don't like three rings copying bomberman does not mean that I;
dislike three rings, dislike bomberman, dislike three rings version of bomberman, dosent mean I hate the game, dosent mean I think trinkets have screwed CE, or that I dislike the new items. I don't belive any of those things, just so you know, and I have listed a couple things on there in advance.
It's only the fact that theyve presented nothing new that I don't like. It's like going to Dave&busters arcade to play super smash bros, when I have it at my house. The only appeal would be the prizes, or in our case, recipies and bombheads, and that's what I find dissapointing. The lack of new appeal.

I'd go to a D&B to play smash if it meant I could play with people I don't normally play, because beating on the neighborhood friends gets tiring sometimes. Also, sometimes they don't want to play with you anymore when you get too good ;_;
I'd also go to a D&B to play smash if it included tournaments where I could win money for myself.
I'd also go to a D&B to play smash if it meant I could play better players and get better at it by playing other people, and in turn get good enough to win more money.
--------
Hopefully, you see the appeal here.
In my case, I currently don't have bomberman online, so this makes it my only convenient option.
In blast network,
- I get to play people I don't normally play, and that's fun.
- I win 500 cr from 8 player games, and that adds up.
- I sometimes run into legitimate top ranking players, and it's super fun + improves me to play them, so when I get other matches, I can win more money.
On top of this, I now have an alternative to using CE to earn CR and CE - I can use CR to earn CR and CE - win 20-30 times and earn 10k and a mod calibrator (currently 10k).
:V
Also, it really isn't a bad thing to take familiar gameplay and use it (as far as players go).
It's a very enjoyable and profitable mini-game, as far as I'm concerned ;)
@joozek
no.. im not actually playing again i just came back on and i was like "wtf happened.." lol and i never become "unsuccessful" in games ive liked :P jst saying. and my riches are getting there in DN.. I just crafted some awesome bows and found some expensive items ;O
@everybody else
It was just my opinion, no need to be angry at me o.O. I am not saying that i'm right, i just wanted to share my opinion and see others too. At least this game is getting better for some of you! lol. And yeah, DN has a lot of annoying gold farmers ~.~ but ima get my goldies the hard way ^_^ anyway that is all~ Happy spiral knight-ing(?)
"But now the entire market is pretty horrid"
"lol and i never become "unsuccessful" in games ive liked :P jst saying."
Oooooooookaaaaaaaaay
rice is fake and [fabulous].
hes right about the market.
bomberman pvp is good cuz it allows something for people who dont have ce to play.
[fabulous] and fake is rice.
[EDIT: On these forums, we do not use "gay" as a synonym for "bad."]

Tenlki, I know what you mean. I just didn't find that that was entertaining enough. You make a completely valit point, unlike some of the trolls running around talking about rice.
QQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQ

Okay. I can see where you're coming from, I also thought the Bomberman PvP was a joke, I don't see why they couldn't have just added beta style PvP or added it along with the Blast Network.
Short story: I'm beta/preview-pro, I want a preview-only players server, the game went downhill after the first 2 weeks of release.
Long story: In my opinion, the preview pretty much topped anything that happened over the course of my playing time on Spiral Knights, so I'm all about the pro-preview view on everything. (Now I say the "first 2 weeks of release" because that's pretty much all I can remember liking and the only time period in which I could talk to a 'randomer' and have them respond with the same level of intelligence, so it may not be exactly 2 weeks but whatever). After the "first two weeks", most of the preview players were still actually playing and having fun for the most part (my reference to that is being in a guild that is moderately populated with preview players) and not much had gone too 'wrong'.
After that, the patches started to change the game in a way that I started to wonder if Spiral Knights was even going to be remotely like the preview phases. Unhappy with the game changes, I stopped playing properly at the end of April, I pretty much stayed away from SK over the whole of May although it didn't seem like a whole load of changes had taken place while I had been gone. I returned to SK in early June in hopes of seeing unbinding and PvP return sometime soon after.
Now I know no-one wants to hear about this game but I'm using it as an example: A similar thing happened with World of Warcraft, TBC was the best time I ever had, WotLK came along and pretty much did the same, only instead of leaving for 1 month, it was a whole year.
My point is that games change and [crap] happens, you've either got to adapt to the changes and take it, or just leave.
The game hasn't gone downhill - it's only getting better. : )
This is the first mode of PvP - not the end all be all. It's one variant, and there are many more to come, so there's no reason to be negative towards it when it's completely optional.
The new trinkets are also very nice - I invested in some high UV stuff just like you, but I'm not complaining because it really does offer great new options for all players.
Saying others agree with you is nice, but you don't speak for the majority. Got nothing against you as I've known you around the trade boards for a while, but let's not get negative just for the sake of being negative here.
There's a lot of good stuff going on, though you won't usually find us arguing here on the boards - we're too busy playing the game and having fun. :)
