@NickPopovich
Currently working on two new monsters that should make things more interesting for everyone. Hopefully they're not the shy type.
That means one thing, more update in the near future! :D Hope a new level as well~ :)

Not rares. They'll be getting a lot of screen time!
Well that's good. I mean, I don't expect this game to have the content of WoW given the time and crap tons of money they've had to produce it, but a little more variety would be nice. Hopefully it's more than just two monsters and actual monster classes, but I doubt it.
Cant wait to see, could this mean new family of monsters?
Yay! This is exciting!
SLOOMS! LOTS AND LOTS OF SLOOMS! AND MAGICAT! FOR MAGICAT HATS! IT JUST HAS TO BE!
I hope it's one that instantly kills you if you abuse caps lock. :p
@Quizzical WHAT KIND OF MONSTER WOULD THAT BE?.....I HOPE THEY DO THAT CAUSE I HATE NOOBS WHO ABUSE CAP LOCKS ITS SOOOOO ANNOYING
Guys remember they took out sleep uv.I bet they will add some monsters that causes sleep!and maybe even curse.they said sleep resist UV will come back sometime.
Too bad capslock can't be abused in the game.
Whoever thought it was a good idea to filter out my fits of glorious rage must have a perfectly justifyable reason for this.
Necro could be easily right. Happy I didn't keep my MAX sleep uv. I wanna sleep!
While I was waiting to load, there was a tip about rare monsters that I hadn't noticed before.
I've seen that a tin. Always wondered what it meant. Strangers? Ya know, basil?
"While I was waiting to load, there was a tip about rare monsters that I hadn't noticed before."
this means love puupies, impostocubes, soul jellies, slooms, mewkat, etc.
But slooms are unintentionally rare, on account of having no chance to spawn, anywhere!
So do they count as a rare mob or not? :?
Also, I don't think there can be a new family. All the weak|strong|neutral combinations already exist. I think.
This is actually very cool. In the constant clamor for pvp modes and new bosses and new weapons I was afraid new normal monster types and to a lesser extent level templates wouldn't be addressed but it's easily at the top of my most wanted list as generic depth to depth slogging takes up the majority of play time. Kudos to youdos.
There's nothing strong/weak to Normal damage yet (except a certain boss' 2nd/4th phase).
On topic, I would love to see new monster classes.

That was last night =P From one of those monster boxes. So yes Slooms can spawn currently.
just watch the new monsters be crazy ice fast monsters.. ...
or maybe they will be monsters who actually make some weps useful!
it would be cool if there were more monsters weak to poison and shock!
so our new weps would be awesome!
Please let this include the return of the tortodrone.
i wanna purring cap to be a drop for any of these new monsters, or they release the purring cap as a craftable item that goes after the ash tail cap( because of the animalistic relation).
I doubt there will come a new monster class.
We have 4 attack types, one of those who is ALWAYS neutral to everything, and 3 that already have each their 2 strong, neutral, weak monsters.
There either come three new classes that are immune to one attack, and weak to 2 others, or else I don't see any new class.
You could just add a monster class that is neutral to everything, and that would not break anything really - except there would not be any way to do extra damage to them but so what.
Or they could just add monsters to the existing families.
The beast family in particular is fairly lacking in mob variety. (Just Chromalisks and Wolvers.) and I wouldn't be too broken up if we saw a new undead monster type as well.
Currently we have
2 Beast lines
-Wover
-Chromalisk
4 Fiend Types
-Devilites
-Grievers
-Wings
-Trojans (Uncommon)
3 Undead Types
-Zombies
-Shadows (uncommon)
-Kats
4 Gremlin types
-Axemen
-Menders
-Flamers
-Bombers
6 Slimes
-Lichen
-Lichen Colonies
-Elemental Lichens
-Elemental Lichen Colonies (Rare)
-Jellies
-Mini-Jellies (Uncommon)
5 Construct Lines
-Scuttlebots
-Retrodes
-Lumbers
-Gun Puppies (So very, very common)
Mecha-Knights
(This list does not include boss monsters or monsters that only spawn in boss zones, such as Slag Guards.)
If we don't get some more beasts, I may need to go Chromalisk hunting. Think of the Chromalisks!
Shy Guys from Mario Bros obviously, to continue the trend of "borrowing" from other games - ala Bomberman.
I guess Sonic is making an appearance!
@Jamini
There are only two monsters in Jelly family as well - Lichen Colony is just a kind of a upgraded lichen just like Alpha Wolver is a kind of upgraded wolver. Also if you have put status lichens/jellies on your list you should have put status wolvers/chromalisks there as well.
That said I agree with you that it is beast family that should be probably expanded - it just got more potential then jelly family imo :-)
That's why I said Sonic! What could be more beastly than a super-ultra-power-bazinga-speed Hedgehog?
@miojoxhl2
I'd rather see some barrel-throwing Donkey Kong :-D
Let's look at the niches that need filling:
Gremlins have ranged(flamer) and melee(whacker) types, but miniboss/large enemy or generic status dealer that changes based on floor theme.
Beasts have midrange (chromalisks), melee (wolvers) and large types (alpha wolvers), but no miniboss.
Undead have ranged(kat) and melee(zombie, phantom) types, but no miniboss.
Constructs have ranged(retrode, gun puppy), melee(mecha knight, scuttlebot) and large(lumber) types, but no miniboss.
Slimes have melee(lichen), ranged(jelly cubes) and large(lichen colony) types, and a miniboss(giant lichen colony).
Fiends have melee(greaver) and ranged(devilite) types, and a miniboss(trojan).
Where I'm defining minibosses as the large monster that spawns on the last wave of a themed arena's first room. So each theme lacks:
Gremlin: Status dealer, Miniboss, Large
Beasts: Miniboss, Long range
Undead: Miniboss, Large
Construct: Miniboss
Slime: Nothing
Fiend: Nothing/Large
I think that beasts and undead need new monsters the most, but gremlins need a new status dealer type for sure; the status theme in deconstruction zones only affects the constructs, and there aren't normally that many. I guess they might add a healer to one of the groups that doesn't have one, though, just to have perhaps an elemental-weak healer.
O! aybe they might be make a magicat boss. basically a kat that does magic. like the "What dark ritual?" cat in morrcraft. cause dark ritual=dark magic=magic=magicat. maybe it could do magic stuff, like shoot lighting out of the sky or stuff. and it has an army of zombies to protect it. sort of like the jk. u have to get to it and destroy its magic objet like a wand or crystal or something and then it cant do any more real magic but can still raise the dead. its protected by a force feild that u have to smash and then u can start killing it.
i should put this post in suggestions...
More Undead, I want to see more Undead things.
I am also kind of expect more monsters in the existing families, in particular, more that cause piercing and maybe shadow.
I'm ok with undead but there should be more lichen stuff.even thought they got a mini boss I want a bigger one that is like JK.
They can totally add a new monster class. http://wiki.spiralknights.com/Damage
So far there's no class that deals shadow and is weak to shadow.
No classes are neutral to the damage they deal.
No classes deal elemental and are weak to piercing.
And there's a few more combinations of strengths and weaknesses we don't yet have. There's room to add a bunch more classes if OOO wants to.
Normal will probably always stay at normal damage, no unit type will ever be weak or strong against it.
All other weakness/strength combinations already exist.
And to add a unit that deals shadow, but is weak against shadow could be a shadow jelly or a shadow gremlin.
Wait skellys do shadow and gremlins and jellys are weak to shadow.but if you mean a monster that deals shadow and is weak to shadow that won't make sense.I seem to find my tempered caliber does 20 damage to jellys in tier one?anyone can explain this?
wolvers are weak to piercing yet DEAL piercing damage
We need enemies to kill off the gunners that let me take all the blasted hits. Like a enemy that uses long range that has to be hit in the back, or an enemy that launches roarmulus missiles up into the air and onto the ground, but not at close range. Who's reviving who now...
Also gerryw173, shadow is the only damage type where there isnt one monster that deals it and is weak to it. It'a also the only one where both monsters dealing that damage are highly ressistant to it. So if you use alot of shadow weapons, stock up on shadow defense, since they are useless on shadow enemys.
@DrLequack: I like those long range mob ideas, but its the sort of thing that would only work alongside gunner buffs. Otherwise, well, guns are already underpowered and under-utilized, and these new monsters would exacerbate that problem.
New healers would also be pretty cool, as it's a bit silly to see silkwings and menders healing robots and skeletons. Maybe some sort of mechanic for constructs and a spirit that wanders around reviving undead mobs.
I would love to see monsters that use those two unused status effects: maybe an undead that uses doom and a beast (like a walking mushroom) that inflicts muddle. They'd have the bonus of making the Wildwoods and FSC a bit more interesting, but somehow I don't think we're going to see these anytime soon (sleep hasn't even been fully integrated yet).
in earlier tiers, even a 5* weapon can do like 40 damage per slash in tier 1. that is why 5 * weapons belong in T3, so they minimize the damage or else you will 1-hit-KO someone
I don't expect them to be implimeted soon, but eventuualy. I've already said somewhere that armors like gunslinger need to be revised. It should start out at 2 star with shadow defense (the way wolver has less peircing than normal, or how demo has less elemental than normal) and one status ressist, and it could have handgun attack speed low.
I agree that there should be more gun-buffing armors, but that dosen't mean that guns themselves are under-utilized. I see people with vog cub ignoring the ASI for swords and just pulling out a argent and killing everything. This is why we need long range monsters before we make long range armors.
I like the idea of new healers though. Gremlins build constructs however; I think a construct medic would be unnessecary. A undead medic is very nessecary though; since there is no medic that is weak to elemental, plus, it would make sense. However the grim totems kinda take place of an undead medic, and it would be annoying to have some spirit rivive the guys, even if they arent in totem range.
polips are so lame
Probably more rare monsters, judging from his comment.
But awesome none-the-less!
