I haven`t been able to play SK for a couple of days, so I wanted to know how much harder it was to kill vanaduke.

Thanks.

It is actually easier

The fight is actually much much easier now. Firstly heart drops on kills make life much easier and people now focus on killing Zombies and Slags instead of just avoiding them. Each Slag kill drops like 2-3 big hearts and they respawn so you have constant supply of health.

That actually IS true since

That actually IS true since you don't even need to kill them, just evade em. They drop hearts eventually. Not that I even need those.

From what I know bigfootm, that is true since you use ce revives :P

I've fought him once since

I've fought him once since the update, in a 3-man party.
First of all, I couldn't single out and kill off the Slag Guards fast enough to make it matter, since Vanaduke would end up respawning them almost right away.
Second, it conflicted with my weapon of choice for the fight, which is the Blitz Needle. I'd typically just wait for Vanaduke to attack and fire away in the time he takes to recover, but with two Slags charging there was no window of opportunity. It's not an issue if you use the AP, though. You can afford to just dodge them then and wait for Vanaduke to kill them off for hearts.
Of course I don't know all the little details of the new spawn rules but it's just my opinion that it takes a lot more dodging.
If anything it just requires a bit more 'awareness'.

Tada

1. Get a party member to aggro both slags
2. Have him make them dance in a side where they can't bother the others
3. ????
4. It's exactly the same battle, but you get free hearts once in a while

It's is only harder if you

It's is only harder if you shiverlock or glitches him consistently before the patch.

As far as soloing is concerned, before the patch, once you killed a slag gaurd ( 2ohko from CIV charge atk ), you only have to look out for 1 slag guard. On the other hand, this patch makes killing them redundant, so you have to look out for two but they dropped hearts whether or not you killed those guards.

Particularly love these 2 videos ( not mine ),

Fight is absolutely a ton

Fight is absolutely a ton easier until stage 5. That stage may be a little tougher, but you get to it so quick because the first levels are so easy. If you can kill slags for health the update actually made Vana far easier.

Avoiding the Slag guards are

Avoiding the Slag guards are the only tricky part, making mobility majorly important, and a gun (particularly the Alchemers) a lot more handy to kite and status Vana.

I'd just like to say AP or

I'd just like to say AP or silversix is better for duke star. For me Tge damage is:

6 shot clip
Each shot doing 90-120 damage aprox.

This is a total of:

Min-540 Damage
MAX approx-720 Damage WITHOUT my Trueshot trinket.

Polaris does good damage

Polaris does good damage against Vana plus the shocks can give him a little studder in his attacks.

True code but the AP can fire

True code but the AP can fire 1 maybe 2 clips in polaris time.

I have tried Callahan and

I have tried Callahan and Polaris against him. Callahan actually does very good damage, the only problem being you can't shoot on the run.

Yup. If you could have more

Yup. If you could have more mobilty with te blitz needle,
I would take that over AP any day.

Everyone has an AP though. 1

Everyone has an AP though. 1 odd person with a poison, freeze or shock gun can go a long way since its not easy to shiverlock him anymore in phase 5.

Lepreal
AP only does 76 damage. :| 82

AP only does 76 damage. :| 82 when poisoned.

Zombies and Slags

They are Slag Walkers and Slag Guards. Just wanted to point that out.

Also, my AP does 90. B)
