I've been thinking about PvP a bit lately, mainly because I haven't the internet connection (or the computer specs) required to play it for myself.
However my friends have done a lot of PvP and I've talked to people who PvP a bit and I think I've come up with some core strategies that you will most likely be seeing in PvP, or will want to try out in PvP if you are new to it.
I sure said PvP alot.
Anyway, this is a discussion thread for Player Vs Player strategies, stories or just general chatter.
Li'l Slugger: This strategy centres around the Iron Slug or Callahan, using a Nameless Set and Quick Draw Trinkets to reduce the idle time of the weapon, to allow for much more effective reload juking (shooting one shot then waiting for the animation to go back to normal then firing again, to avoid reloading). This gives you a high-damage attack with a reliable stun, that you can consistently use to slow down your enemies from a good range.
From here you can either choose to close the gap and swing away with a Gran Faust or Charge Attack with the Iron Slug/Callahan.
I Will Divine Avenge You!: In a reference probably lost on most people, this build focuses on Divine Avenger charge spamming, in order to bring down enemy health. While this is not an ideal build, it's popular because it is so neutral and easy to play. Picking off low health players and shotgunning people from close range are popular strategies with this build.
Often supplemented by an Argent Peacemaker or other equally spammable and neutral weapons.
Suzie Spamalot: A Suzie Spamalot, spams fast normal attacks to consistently harass and damage just about every player on the stage all at the same time. Although her attacks are often hit and run, if you are consistently a target of her harassment, you are more than likely going to be killed. And possibly become bulimic. Weapons like the Cold Iron Vanquisher and Sentenza are popular. The Winmillion in particular gets overlooked, however its ridiculous lunge and double-hit capabilities make it ideal with enough attack speed.
Alchemizers: Obviously, these are the players that use and abuse Ol' Faithful, AKA the Alchemer. Using Shock, Freeze or Fire to their advantage, they threaten your very existence by spamming and juking rebounding bullets everywhere. Stacking CTR is their forte, as an Alchemer's charge attack is more likely to hit somebody. Once you've been inflicted with a status (or two), be prepared to become the target of the beat down of a lifetime by anything else in their arsenal.
If you wish to add more strategies, that you've encountered or that are purely theoretical, feel free to.
Silly names are optional.
Here's what I used during the last few hours of the Preview.
Skolver Cap
Skolver Coat
Divine Avenger
Quick Strike Module
Quick Strike Module
Swiftstrike Buckler
Basically, my Attack Speed was increased if only by a little bit.
Skolver Set gives me a very high damage boosts for swords.
And DA is powerful as it was.
