The Number of Views column always says 0 views!
I can't quote anyone! [quote] [/quote] tags don't work and I fear for my sanity if the forums use irc tags D:
Can't even use formatting tags like [b][/b] etc.

I'd rather not have stuff like BBCode... just encourages people posting in different colored text to be "unique". Also don't really see the need for post counts, profiles, avatars, and signatures. Judge the contents of posts, not posters. I don't want the forums to be a big popularity contest.
EDIT: At least we have editing. If you need to quote someone, try copying and pasting their text and putting <i></i> tags around it.
Also to add into this, was talking with a dev a week or 2 back, and he said they are going to be working to let our in game character's full profile show up as our forum avatar. I like how simple the forum is right now, and our knight as our avatar would be a nice improvement. Although what you want wouldn't be what i'd like to be honest. I've seen forums that have all sorts of silly things on it and it usually leads to people gunning for attention more than anything else. Leave em the way they are and give us our knight avatars and ill be happy.
Three Ring didn't use a standard BB service like vBulletein. They built a custom version through Drupal which is rather temperamental and annoying to fine tune.
As a result, only select HTML codes are supported. For italics use em /em. Bold is strong /strong and bulleted/numbered lists are ul /ul and ol /ol respectively with each bullet item wrapped up in list item tags li /li. To quote someone, just italicize it.
As an example (using square brackets [ ] in place of HTML angle brackets < and >):
This right [em]here[/em] is a [strong]good example[/strong].
[ul]
[li]Be sure to open and close your tags properly[/li]
[/ul]
Keep in mind...
[ol][li]You shouldn't over do it.[/li]
[li]Extra formatting makes things harder to read, not easier.[/li][/ol]
Which produces:
This right here is a good example.
Keep in mind...
So yeah...
I never mentioned the BBCODE tags for changing font colour/size. I only suggested formatting tags like bold, underline, strike through, italics etc. as well as the ability to properly quote people.
HTML seems easy enough, just replace [ ] with < >.
The only supported formatting is HTML, and a very limited set of html tags at that.
If you click the link "More information about formatting options", located below where you write a post, apart from a list and explanation of supported html tags, it seems that the forum maker's opinion is that people should simply embrace a limited html subset.
Of course, the reason they did this was to keep forum management and hosting costs low, as well as avoid having to pay any forum licensing fees for popular "forum-in-a-box" programs, that use fancy forms of "BB Code", User groups, etc.
I for one am in support of a more robust forum, but with that said, It's not real high on my priority list. I'd argue the need for complex formatting for posting guides, but that's what the Wiki is for.
So uh... whenever you get around to it, Three Rings, that'd be appreciated.
