Hello everyone!

If I play through Tier 1 of a particular gate, there will be no cost to start at Tier 2 the next times. I have to do this for every gate. After some time the gate will fade out and new ones will open. So if I don't plan to play this gate several times in the next days, is it sensible to unlock it at all? How long will it take until it returns (gates names are combined, right?). Will it return? Will it stay unlocked, if so?

Once a gate cycles out it is

Once a gate cycles out it is gone for good. Even if another gate cycles in with the same name, it won't be the same gate because its levels will be different. It's generally not worth the time or the energy to bother with running lower tiers for the sole reason of removing the tiny cost to warp straight to the tier you want- consider it instead to be a nice bonus for those times when you do find yourself needing to run through a lower tier.

Okay, thanks for the answer!

I suspected as much, it's still a bit disappointing though. Ah well, 200 crowns is hardly a high price anyway.

I beg to disagree. Running

I beg to disagree. Running tier 1 for up to 60 CE to eliminate a 200cr cost is not a bad an idea as it sounds. It's not like you lost that 60CE running through Tier 1, you still have a profit even if it's less than Tier 2 profits. Also if you manage join in at least halfway, the rates are not half bad and you won't spend much time doing it either.

For example, if you can run tier 2 of a Ironclaw Munitions gate twice a day for 8 days, you have already spent 3200 crowns if you didn't run tier 1 once. That's over 60 CE worth already.

Yeah, that's what I meant by

Yeah, that's what I meant by "So if I don't plan to play this gate several times in the next days". Lower Tiers don't give as much Crowns and Heat (and materials and high-starred Basil recipes), so it appears to me that unlocking is not worth it unless I want to farm that gate (Royal Jelly farming comes to mind).
