is it better to lv the gear to lv 10 before upgrade or it will be the same to upgrade at lv5?

If a recipe calls for a level
If a recipe calls for a level 5+ equipment, it doesn't matter if you use a level 5, 6, 100 (doesn't exist) equipment. It'll still produce the same equip and will restart at level 1 heat.

What Griffin said. UV possibilities aside (random, not influenced by level) you will get the same item whether you upgrade it at level 1 or level 10, or anywhere between.
I prefer to level mine only to where they need to be to upgrade them, but I'm usually leveling a few different items at once and don't want to waste the heat on levels that won't matter.

IMO, craft it at Lvl 5. You get time to heat the upgrade up. I recently crafted my Master Blast bomb yesterday, an it just needs one more level. It would be heat 10 but I think SK crashed again as for when I sided there was no "You are dead" screen, and when I did revive it didn't even Rez me. Anyway, craft ASAP.
