It isn't a recommended weapon

It isn't a recommended weapon for T3 because it lacks sufficient knockback, the interrupt/knockdown is very late in the combo and the damage is low compared to other 5* swords. None of these things are serious issues though in T2. Finally, the charge attack is very dangerous to use (in any tier) because one is vulnerable for a long time.

That said... there are a few players that are true masters of the cutter series and use DVS as their primary weapon in T3.

JK

Vile Striker and Dread Venom Striker are only really recommended for Jelly King, to keep him poisoned (and even for JK there are loads of other options that will work just fine). There are better swords for almost every other situation.

It's a situational weapon

The main feature of the Cutter line is the low knockback. Because of the 2-hit-per-swing, it works well against stationary or large enemies like Gun Puppies and Trojans. I've seen a few people work wonders with them, but I personally hate the inability to stop enemy attacks reliably. Some people use Swiftstrike so that they can block-cancel their attack fast enough to shield push anything that will hit them, but being in Australia that isn't a viable option for me.

Vile Striker

I have a Vile Striker, which I only use when I'm going to the Royal Jelly Palace, where it serves me well.

I don't think I'll bother upgrading it to the 5* Dread Venom Striker any time soon.

Dread Venom Striker? No. Wild Hunting Blade? Yes.

Get a Wild Hunting Blade. At least it more or less has a better knockback?
