Is it really worth it? I know that players always want to say ''I completed it without spending money'' but it will take forever otherwise.I was thinking about purchasing the battlepack but I dont know if its really worth it, I would apperciate any opinions.Thanks.
Purchasing CE? Help?
And of course they have to make a living and have money for upgrades I just wanted to get opinions of fellow knights first ill wait a few more replys to decide :)
If you have $20-25 to burn, by all means buy CE and use it (don't sell too much of it for crowns) to further yourself. Establishing yourself as a new F2P player at this point is extremely difficult and will take months of casual play, or weeks if you are hardcore about it. I won't foist the old "I'm F2P and in 5*" on you because I started early April, and it really is about catching the right waves.
Instead, what you should consider is this: if you pay $25 for a game, what are your expectations? How much play time do you expect? Does it look like SK will deliver? I will say that even if I put money into SK at this point, it would be money well spent- personally, I feel like I've gotten far more than $20-25 out of SK. For me, it's about the camaraderie of an awesome guild, and the friends that I've made. If I were to consider SK as a solo game, I'd give it a pretty dismal score. But for me, the value is in the player connections. So you should evaluate it from your own point of view (and see what others have to say if you want)
Buy the pack its definitely worth it. You're here to have fun if you like the game then support it.
It's not cheating by spending money.
It's not lame for OOO to make money off people. I'm not sure why people seem to think the idea of spending money on a game is so dirty.
I play a good bit but at this rate it would take me a little over a week and a half to make one 5 star item. And atm I want 7(or maybe more?) 5 star items so I dont know if I want to waste all my time when I can get alot out of the deal im just stuck in a confusing situation and wanted other opinions(Thanks ^_^!), but yes I think my money would go to a good use.
I wouldn't if I were you. If you REALLY want to get CE to get ahead, I won't stop you, but be aware that this game has one of the most limited lifespans of any MMORPG I've ever seen. There really isn't anything else to do after you get 5* gear and beat Vanaduke a couple times. Blast Network isn't going to last you long. It can be fun, but it's too repetitive for me.
I spent 20 bucks, and I really wish I hadn't because the only reason I even play now is to use my ME to craft. Maybe you might find the game more interesting than I do now, but honestly I think the addicting aspect of this game was wanting to upgrade your gear. Once you buy CE and upgrade it all, there's nothing else you can do! It's definitely a lot more fun to slowly build your gear up yourself. You'll feel better about it in the end, too.
At this point, I'm just waiting for new content to be released. I really like this game, but it could be soooo much better...
You make a good point but it wont get any better if users dont buy ce you know......I mainly just want to upgrade so i dont have to spend so much wasted time on stuff.And I would think another tier 3 boss will come out(that or a tier 1 one) I mean the roarmulus twins came out right?
It will take too long. I've been playing ever since the game started (not from the beta) and I still just have one 5 star equipment. This is especially the case since I was searching for the most apropriate equips and crafting alot of 4 stars. I would love to pay some myself, but I cant miss anything at the moment.
Well, the only way we'll buy CE is if the game gets better and we have more use for it, right? I may not speak for everyone but I don't think CE is worth buying if there's nothing to spend it on besides item crafting and dungeoneering. I'm sure there will be more bosses to use our CE on sooner or later, but until then my CE is just going to stay put.
I hardly think anytime is "wasted" in terms of SK. I mean we're playing online games- it's ALL a waste of time, really. But I assume not wanting to "spend so much wasted time on stuff" means you hate having to complete an entire dungeon to make a tiny profit of crowns. It doesn't get any better in T3- it's all the same stuff, with a difference of a few health bars.
I think I thought this out a bit too much. Do whatever you want, it's just 20-25 bucks. I, personally, would never spend any more money than that, though, if the game continues on like this.
youre doing it wrong, apparently. i started around the same time as you, maybe later, and i have 7 5* and 8 other 4*, now unless you have like 40 4* you should have more than 1 5*
@OP
as others have said the main appeal of this game is striving for new stuff, so if you just buy it half the fun is gone, in my opinion
Why not do what I did? Brofist the devs, give them some money...
But DO NOT buy your recipes from the auction house. Play the game, run to Basil, get your stuff that way. I've been doing it for months and you have NO IDEA how absolutely sweet it felt to finally get my Vog set recipes. And, since I bought CE, I could craft them straight away.
Best of both worlds, really!
@Serperior: This is what I did too. Bought starter pack, but only used the CE for elevators and crafting. (also wasted a bunch on revivals because I was new and dumb.) It makes the game so much more fun that way.
Using CE to get extra weapon and trinket slots is a good way to make the gaming more fun (more options) without getting all the good stuff without actually feeling like you "earned" them.
Also, I would guess that people who have work or school work so much that they only play a 100 - 200 energy worth per day will take so long to get any decent gear that they will get more out of the game from a little "jump" with CE. Just don't spend so much that you can just buy all 5* gear - spend a 20$ or so. Perhaps buy the starter set rather than a few cheaper installations if you are sure you will play for a month at least.
I have so far sunk 15$ into this game and found it to be money well spent. I work 5 days a week with long shifts and most nights I just use my ME to have some fun and never touch my CE. But on my days off I have no problem with burning 300 or so CE for like 8 hours of game time (more or less depending on the skill of people I group with). when I first bought CE I sold some because I wanted a few shiny things way too much, I didn't enjoy them until after I had bought back the equivalent amount of energy though (had to feel like i earned the shiny). Since then most of the energy I bought has gone more to crafting than to actual gameplay. I would recommend buying CE if 20$ is something you can afford to throw away on a purely recreational endeavor.
I would also like to state that i think no less of people who sell their CE to buy shiny things, if people didn't sell some of their CE they buy with real world currency, then F2P players would loose the ability to make any progress in the game (i'm not claiming these people are altruists but they do contribute to greater good of the game).
tldr: I spent some of my own money and enjoyed the game more for it.
@Complex
I just don't play "that" often so I don't think i'm doing anything wrong.
Free to Play is just a concept, sure there are people that hear that phrase and take it to heart, but 1/2 of those are the same people complaining that you can't play for hours and hours, or that it takes too long to make progress. Treat it like any other game you play, if you feel like you can get 'x' hours of entertainment, find another game you enjoy that will give you the same amount and match the price. I personally bought both the starter pack and the new pack that came out after the PvP did. That's $50 or so, but I also have, at this time, 399 hours of time clocked on Steam.
Pretty good value for my money.
@sterling,
You "are" able to play for hours and hours as a free player. You just gotta play it smart and keep at least 60 energy when deciding to spend. It's all in the players decision.
100-200 energy per day so thats what i was thinking would take to long I currently have only 2,4 star items (and im starting school back soon) so it will take forever....I just have to decided what pack is right for me...... What do you guys think?
I would throw down some money if the developers supported the players in Asia/Oceania. I would freely buy the battle pack if they put up a decent server. I don't because I lag most of the time and die. Put up a server for the other half of the world and I would as well as others would throw down some money.
Where will they get it if members dont buy ce? And which pack should i get the starter or battle pack? I get more ce and a suit if i buy the battle pack but if i buy the other one i get 2 trinket and 2 eapon upgrades

i recommend battle because it gives more energy.
If you have the money, why not?
If you enjoy the game, it seems logical to pay for stuff, so the developers have funding to keep creating new content.
