So far I've realized two things regarding the Coliseum...

1) Ranking 3rd Place in a match gives you nothing.

2) Being tied with someone else for 2nd Place rewards you with NO CROWNS. This means that two people are penalized for scoring equally just to balance out the reward division? That's just sad.

Conclusion: either the King is a discriminating jerk towards losers and average players equally or the Devilites meddle with the prize money to make profits for their own boss stratum.

Discuss.

All ties go to the house...

All ties go to the house... sounds about right.

1. If your playing for

1. If your playing for crowns, your doing it wrong.
2. If you got your tokens get out asap.
3. If your playing for fun, stay awhile and enjoy the smell of burnt ashes.

I play for crowns, I've made

I play for crowns, I've made a lot actually. Also I'm pretty sure if you tie you both win crowns...

"All ties go to the house... sounds about right."

That would sound right if you were playing against the house (i.e. blackjack). Playing against other players, only a small amount should go to the house (i.e. rake in online poker).

Play random team matches

Play random team matches instead. It's easier to outsmart half the other players than all of them.

Oh, and tiebreakers are determined by killcount (the more, the better) and, in the case of equal killcounts, the next tiebreaker is the deathcount (the fewer, the better).

In the case of an exact tie (exactly the same number of points, kills AND deaths), both players split the crown prize.

In a team battle, if both teams tie, everyone "wins" and both teams split the crown prize (200 crowns for each player to enter, minus Krogmo's 30% cut leaves 140 crowns for each player).

An intentional tie is extremely unlikely due to Prisoner's Dilemma logic.

♫We're no strangers to set-ups.
You want the prize and so do I.
A big betrayal's what I'm thinking of.
I get the jackpot, so screw the other guy.♫

The scoring system is

The scoring system is rubbish. I've gotten to 2nd and 3rd place with 0 kills simply because I died less than people below me. The Leaderboards don't say anything about your ability, just how much time you sink into playing Blast Network.

i order to be tied, u have to have the same number of kills and deaths and kill stuff on the score boards. only then u get the crowns. see the score boards on the left? whoev is above the other person have more kills. so that means they r in a higher place than u.

No, I think it's less deaths,

No, I think it's less deaths, not more kills. I could be wrong.

it's person with least

it's person with least deaths. also, they don't pay 2nd place winner if there are 5 players on less I believe

You're only tied if you have

You're only tied if you have equal kills and deaths. If players have equal scores, the player with less deaths comes out on top. If you had the same score as second place, but more deaths overall, this is what happened.

Games with 4 players or less only award money to 1st place; games with 5 players or more will award money to 2nd place as well, regardless of how many players claim second place.

...the ranking calculation is

...the ranking calculation is bogus, if you ask me. Doesn't it all seem one-sided to you guys?

If you can't consistently

If you can't consistently take first or second place, maybe you should try Random Team or even Guild Team battles.

If you're in it for the crowns, your time is probably better spent in the Clockworks fighting monsters.

Does second place earn the extra Krogmo Coins and "Winners-only" bribery prizes in Free-For-All mode?

That's a good alternative. If

That's a good alternative.

If I'm in it for the Crowns, the yes fighting monsters would be the better alternative...but that's if I do have the Energy to spare.

No, bribery rewards come to THE winner. Unless rewards are stated to be given to everyone at the end of the match.

The problem I have with this system is the spread of Crowns given out. I'm not talking about wanting to increase the Crown prize entirely, but rather make it fixed. For 1st, 2nd AND 3rd place. Ties are one-sided picks or a cue for negating the Crown prizes, I think all players should benefit from performing equally in this position. 3rd would be more considerable if they could lessen or even out the fee of 200 Crowns you paid to compensate after the match. It's not like Haven is in recession, is it?

If this sounds like a suggestion thread, anyone feel free to move it accordingly.
