of course, vog coats brainwashes all swordsmen, but me, im a gunner bomber, there is absoulutly nothing that machtes a gunner bomber perfectly.
Is this a good setup?
Yeah, but I figure it's useful becuase when I'm using the Volcanic Helm, it provides Piercing AND shadow resistance, which is nice. Even though almost everything in the game does normal damage, almost every armor/helm/shield blocks it, so you have that too. Skellie is an option, as both the Shield and Helm have fire resistance, but I mainly want it for the Curse and Shadow resistance. Good for Gran Faust using.
Curse resist is useless atm.
There are only 2 things in the game that can curse you, that is the phantoms charge atk in GYs and your own GF charge atk. Both which are 100% avoidable.
Definitely not a stat worth chasing for.
IMO spreading your defenses around isnt the best way to go.
In this game you r not supposed to get hit.
So equip a gear that is good against whatever dmg you are having difficulty in avoiding.
Or if a levels dmg source is say.... 40%elemental 40%normal 10%shadow and 10%piercing. of course ud wear a normal/elemental set and just avoid the shadow and piercing dmg.
Just my 2 cents
That's the thing, all kindes of damages annoy me. :/ Gun Puppies = Elemental. Fiends and those Stupid Butterfly things = Shadow. Wolvers = Piercing.
Also note that this is just my setup for an arena or something like that. If I go into a stratum I know is Fiend Based, Im gonna bring shadow resistant everything. In an arena, you don't know what your gonna see. :p
Go Skolver coat and divine veil. Get some fire resist for FSC and you have a useableset with every defense covered.
The armor lacks normal defense, almost everything in the game does it. Hence you want to stack it on both armor pieces. I think only skellie armor does normal+shadow, though it has fire weakness. The helm might compensate nicely though. Other options would be vog coat, mad bomber coat, volc demo coat. or suits, rather than coats. Damn vog brainwashed me.
Shields only apply their defense when active though. Can't see if you realize that through just your post. A shield is like another player you use as a human shield, it has its own defenses and resistances besides a health bar and will take more hp damage (ie break easier) when it's not resistant to the damage its being subjected to. As such, unless you shield everything perfectly, you'll be shocked just as hard if you take electric damage as when you wouldn't have the shield equiped at all. Only your armor and trinkets can change that.
