HOLY!!! the prices have tripled on EVERYTHING! I wanna make a petition to lower the prices on items and recipes because this is INSANE!
Seriously a three star item being 35k crowns!? It takes weeks to get that much and with the energy prices so low you can't even get it that
way! Whoever wants the item and recipe prices to be dropped down sign here :|

Btw three rings I know from a fact that these new prices will destroy more than 30% or more of spiral knights players :|

I am pretty sure it was only cheaper because it was a beta test. Usually in Beta Tests, items are cheaper so they are easier to buy and test.

well I probably won't like it

well I probably won't like it but maybe this will force people to actually slow down when playing the game. Some of ya'll beat the game in the beta period...that's not really good for the long run.

Be happy its only three

Be happy its only three times.

On the test ocean of Puzzle Pirates, prices of non-player manufactured goods are 1/10 of their price on the production ocean (to start).

It's also in-line with most other beta-testing phases in other games I've played (not just done by OOO)

The prices do not look unreasonable, should be able to easily get 2-star gear by the end of this weekend, 3 star if you're moderately aggressive by the following weekend.

Im sure it'll also help when people sell crystal energy for crowns, since crowns are more valuable the exchange rate will be lower. good thing imo.

Keep prices the same.

Just posting to say I disagree with the assertion that items need to be cheaper. You can get around 5k crowns through an entire Tier 1 run.

Kill more bad guys, collect phat loots.

Well...

I like that it is higher than in the preview, it was too easy to tier up then, but I will say it's a bit high right now. Maybe Bring it down just a little, or give a little more explanation regarding the new token system to make crafting easier?

I agree with Dekar

I can certainly understand the prices being higher, but I think they raised the bar a little too high.

Certain things i can

Certain things i can understand the price for, but i had to pay 15 crowns to send a message with a friend request accept notice. Not to mention, 3CE door costs for treasure boxes seems a little odd to me. Making the game "free" and giving us energy every day is one thing, but the 100 free mist energy per day is nowhere near enough to actually play more than one or two runs per day. I agree, the pricing scheme needs to be adjusted.

Personally, I dont mind that

Personally, I dont mind that the items are higher. Just as mentioned above, the previous prices were beta, and were meant to be affordable so players could test all the weapons. Play time is over and its time to get serious! :P

Items and crowns seem tight right now, but its only the first day, and most of the players are used to getting materials for free, or next to nothing. This will ensure a balanced trading system will be going on, and that the economy will tend to thrive more, rather then a handfull of high players giving out free/dirt cheap materials. If pre-made items are too expensive, well you have a couple other options: Find the recipies and make them yourself, Post on the Bazaar or in game that you are either looking for the recipie, or the item already made, or you can continue whinning and end up in the same position you are now. B)

What I would like to see tho, is a random chance for some recipies at the terminals to have more then one in stock. Like a random chance of having 1-3 recipies in stock at a time. You can either get lucky and find one recipie that is highly wanted, or you can hit the jackpot and grab 3 recipies that you know will turn over for a quick profit. Just a suggestion tho B)

It bothers me just a bit that

It bothers me just a bit that the prices are higher. Here's how I see it though.

To get crowns, you have to enter the clockwork. To enter the clockwork, you have to spend energy. Once that energy is gone, so is your time in the clockwork until it regenerates. The only other way to get crowns is to spend real money - by buying energy.

So, in turn, as a completely free player, any sort of long term investments are made longer, even when dealing with in-game cash, because of the fact that prices are astronomically high and the only means of acquiring crowns is through use of energy, of which only so much is allotted to you each day, AND none of which comes free can be used in the market.

So you either spend money or you pace yourself. While it's an intriguing business model, and I'm sure it'll work in the end (see: Facebook games), I do agree that it can be a bit of a downer.

Against lower prices. Gives

Gives people more reason to craft, and means I can charge more for special orders.

I like them as well, because before crafting and buying from the shops were almost identical in cost.

Since they tweaked the loot

Since they tweaked the loot tables so that you can actually get mats for 2* stuff in T1, I think preview event prices are no longer necessary. Still, they could be smaller. Right now there's pretty much no incentive at all to buy from vendors, everything is more or less RNG dependent on recipes/mats.

Don't you notice you get more crowns in dungeons though? By depth 3 I had 2k. I don't think they should lower prices.

@halycon: That's a good

@halycon: That's a good point.

I think, with the introduction of the token vendors selling high-star crafting materials and other items, that things like vendors and such should change to be less random as well.

I don't have a problem with the random item drops per se, I just think that with a few changes the new systems could be better integrated with the old.

Just as an example:

Vendors no longer sell two-star and up items randomly.
Instead, the items they sell would be influenced by other factors.
Like your tier, recipes you own and items already in your possession.

So, say you just started.

All the vendors in Haven wouldn't sell you items higher than 1-star, except Token Vendors.
2-star items would appear sporadically, once you gained a recipe for a 2-star or higher item, a 2-star or higher item or had all 1-star items equipped.
Once you reach the next tier, the appearance of 2-star items become more frequent and 3-star items become available, etc.

This way, you couldn't just buy high star items straight from a shop, the slightly less random way to acquire crafting materials becomes more useful and overall, prices could become slightly cheaper. It also means that trading over excessive amounts of crowns or energy to someone doesn't let them skip the advancement curve by default.

I also think that vendor only items should be differently priced to craftable items as well, since they are different in a way to craftable items.

Im more worried about the 100

Im more worried about the 100 mist energy its not enough to play for a full 1 hour atleast .I know they want to limit people but for a 30 minute round per day wont make new comer's stay.I say lower down the cost of elevator by 5 or give us enough to play more than 30 mins or make the regen faster this is quiet rediculous

Meh. I rather like the higher

Meh. I rather like the higher prices and high Energy costs (mentioned by cartesian). The latter keeps you from playing all day and burning out on the game, while the higher prices mean you don't have all the best equipment right away so that the game remains somewhat challenging and so that you have something to work for in the long term.

Also the higher prices help

Also the higher prices help keep the cost of CE down :) as people are more likely to be needing a quick burst in cash for longer.

5000? I think you're exagerating there...unless I'm doing the wrong "Tier 1" I just did the entire run of Tier 1 on the far left gate in Arcade and got MAYBE 1000 crowns...Where in the world are you getting 5000 from?

The extreme prices on equips

The extreme prices on equips right now should be meant to give you a signal that crafting is a more appropriate path in making equipment. It seems like a hassle to find the recipes and materials, but it's worth it in the end. Don't get me wrong that I'm okay with prices right now, I'm just making a point. :I

I'm more concerned with

I'm more concerned with energy costs than items and stuff. I think the crafting / drop system is pretty well balanced, and it's challenging enough to be satisfying when I finally get the mat I need to craft something cool. I just find myself cringing every time it costs me 10CE to go down a floor.

Well... last I checked, 100

Well... last I checked, 100 CE was being sold for 1 - 2k. Of course, I know its going to fluctuate wildly over the days... but still, if you have spare crowns or just want CE, now is the time to buy with crowns.

I really think it needs to be made more clear that you can buy energy with crowns as well. (Not saying you guys don't, but it seems people always forget that route, and right now its more affordable than ever)

If you're not getting enough

If you're not getting enough crown to be able to buy 100-200CE from one T1 run then yeah you're doing it wrong. At the moment I can easily get enough crowns to buy 100 CE and occasionally enough to get 200CE

The spaceman is right. Quit

The spaceman is right. Quit whining and put your nose to the grindstone. When you buy an item outright, you pay for a pretty damn convenient service. No CE cost whatsoever, no material collection. This is the same principle that makes you buy your groceries at a grocery outlet and not at a gas station convenience store.

It's going to take some work to get to endgame. Stop worrying about it and try to enjoy the early experience.

Take a minute and think

Please remember that in the beta there were no random tokens to help you get materials and "free" items. The increased item prices makes up for the amount of free items and materials you get for the random tokens you get just for clearing stages.

I don't support this petition as I see why the item price change was made.

I'm going with the anti-lower

I'm going with the anti-lower prices here, at first I've got to admit was thinking that Three Rings had overshot the prices but thinking about it, it's going to do us all well in a few months time, the prices are high to make you want to play it a lot and come back for more.

I've been playing for about 30-ish hours and I'm already full 3* geared with a 4* weapon, now that may seem slow to some but considering the prices have tripled it should - at a glance - it should take take 3 times as long to acquire gear of that level and I feel like I've gotten gear a hell of a lot faster than in the preview which doesn't seem right.

So as great as it would seem to lower the prices, it wouldn't do you any good in the long run because gear would be far too easy to get and it'd get less fun, more quickly, not to mention getting that piece of 5* gear you've always wanted wouldn't seem nearly as rewarding!
