Changes that had been made and that I’d like to see undo :-D

There are some changes made by OOO since April that personally I’ve found “not good”. I know chances for undoing them are slim but let's star anyway ;-)
Also note that these are not big deals - I'm not gonna stop playing because any of the issues below, that's for sure. These are just points to consider, that I have decided to post because I'm bored during overtime :-D

1. Vise and Punch in Bazaar.
Not only I’m sorry because of Vatel’s misery. I find Vise and Punch workshop looks a bit ankward just in the middle of Bazaar.
Why not move them to Emberlight and rebuild Vatel’s house?
Also I see Unbinding and Unique Variants as advanced options rather then the part of core game play. Putting those guys in Haven, where all new players has access, may convince those players that unbinding and unique variants are essential parts of game play (that every player is ought to try and use them). Unbinding and Unique Variants would work better if placed in Emberlight – by the time player get there for the first time he’s usually familiar with basic game play and only then he may be interested in some optional luxury services.

2. Monster diversity in Jigsaw Valley and Concrete Jungle.
Those levels used to be more interesting and have been forcing players to carry different weapons and be more versatile. With slimes, beasts, gremlins and constructs all at the same time it was fun to plan your gear ahead. Plus it was a good way for new players to learn the ropes of damage dealing in SK.
Now those levels are a way more dull, boring and far less educational.

3. Items for paying players only.
SK used to be a game where everything could be bought/obtain by free players eventually. And that was great. No real-cash-malls, no vanity items for paying players. Even promotional items like Rose Regalia costumes could be obtained by non-paying players.
That's why I think that promotional items should be unbound or at least possible to unbound just like it used to be during Rose Regalia promotion. I know that Static Flash isn’t an item many would crave for but at least I would be able to say that SK is really Free to Play game. Now I have to say it’s Free to Play*
*except Static Flash, Green Ward and Plasmatech set ;-)

Not free to play

Spiral Knights is not to free to play. They offer a free demo, to gain access to more content (i.e. play for longer, get 3* stuff other than boss stuff, get into T3, etc) OOO must be paid. It can be by you, or by someone else.

@jeffreysgf what are you

@jeffreysgf what are you talking about? I have a full set of 4* gear and haven't payed anything. I'm thinking of paying later because I think it just makes sense to pay for a game I've enjoyed so much. Still, I know a few people who have maybe 10+ 5* stuff and haven't payed anything either. Just because they are paid by someone else, doesn't mean it's not free to play. As long as it is possible for a free player to get everything (other than maybe a FEW special offer stuff) that a paying player can get, that is what qualifies a game as free to play. SK IS free to play.

I'll explain.

You need ce right? Any way you play, you need ce. Effectively, someone is paying for ce.

Whats that? You say you paid Cr for you ce? Sure you did. Then you used it.

The CE came from the Market, right? Energy that enters the market, if you trace it all the way back, will come from some guy buying energy with money. THAT person is the one paying for 'your' ce, although you pay him back in in-game currency. (In an extended sense).

So free to play, yes. But free for everyone? No. People buy energy with real money, then sell it in the game for cr. You buy that energy, and you effectively have got ce that has been 'paid' for by someone else.

Get it?

Stuff

1)
I can agree to moving Vise and Punch to Emberlight - it would make sense. I doubt any T1 players would ever have enough to shoot for a single UV upgrade, and doing it as a T2 player is wasting potential equipment money. I won't blame anyone for wanting a UV early, by all means, but until end game you don't really have too much use for it anyway, thus moving them to Emberlight might not be such a bad idea after all. Now, the only issue is that players would have to pay 500 crowns just to get there in the first place unless they've gained clearance to T3 in one of the gates, which may kill this idea.

2)
I suppose that would make things more interesting, but is this necessary? In any case, I'd much rather have a possibility of creating a "mixed stratum" that contains a little of everything in it. Now that'd be interesting.

3)
Wait, so you're saying you want promotional items for paying players to be unbound for selling? Then what's the point of purchasing in the first place?

@jeffreysgf
I think that what he means is that you can play the game for free. A lot of players take advantage of the paying players to play for free. The game may not be free to play, but that doesn't stop players from playing it for free.

Well...

Im guessing he/she is referring to things like the ce packs, where you get that equipment. In which case, you'd get a whole ton of ce as being the reason. CBF doing it the longer way, just whole load it out. Also, some people outgrow the need for that equipment, so sell and make more ^^

I don't pay for this game either btw.

x2

I pay whenever I feel I need some more energy, or when there's a special offer like Rose Regalia and Battle Pack. It is entirely up to the player whether or not he or she wants to spend money on it - I, for one, don't really mind. Do I have better things to spend my money on? Sure I do, but for the cheap prices they have I can say that I'll be glad to see off a little.

I also fail to read your post properly... Maybe I'm just tired, or maybe you'll have to rephrase. No idea, but I can't completely make out your message.
I apologize.

You must be really out of it then. The OP is offline and I'm just providing objective POVs and ideas and explaining what no-one else seems to be doing.

Got to sleep or ya'll end up grouchy tomorrow. wait, you said it may be one of several reasons. Meh, I'm not the OP, so I don't need to worry ^^

And no need to apologize. Only do that if you viciously shoot him/her down. Otherwise no worries ^^

Eto ne...

I was pointing towards your post, Valkyrie182. x_x
The second one, that is.

And yeah, I probably should go to sleep. The only problem is that I don't want to. Yeah, I'm stubborn like that.
Anyway, I'll try to read it through later some time and decipher then what my brain failed to now.

Awww...

So you didn't read my post? Q_Q

Psychodestroyer cries pathetically (IGN)

I can be pretty stubborn to. Cold weather I like. Everyone thinks I'm nuts. I can stay active for HOURS if I just keep playing a game. Weird stuff like that.

Eto ne? Note? I dunno.

I don't pay cuz I can't and there's nothing I would personally gain from it. Adolescent with no money and no better life than in a game. And I have enough of a grip on real life to understand that buying stuff for a game won't help me at all.

Doesn't make me feel any better...T_T

ce is required, and ce can only appear in-game if it is bought. sure, u can buy it with cr. but that is being sold by someone who bought it. SK is NOT free to play.
