I have another idea again tbat people would say 'derp' to.
Why not make a bank for your crowns? If you need crowns, you can withdraw crowns or deposit some. It would probably be next to the Auction House or near the Bazaar.

You may hate me for this guys, but I like this idea.
Could we also make it a vault to keep mats in too? I need to horde what I have before I lose it all the same way...
In-game, I tend to be really charitable. Because I can open my inventory and see how much stuff I have, I usually give away a LOT of free stuff. First was a hot edge to my brother. After starting out, an autogun for him too. An autogun to a random stranger, then another hot edge to another, then a wolver coat, a colbalt helm/armour, several prismatechs, a wolver coat, another hot edge etc etc.
That doesn't include the countless combined crowns, energy, and materials I've given away to friends and strangers alike. I once gave 3 pages worth of materials to some stranger once...then 2 whole pages to 2 other another day...
As a result, I'm usually at a defecate of stuff. Once I ended up with 0 crowns...
I'm borderline T2, so I need what I can get, but I...yeah...just give stuff away to some who need it...
My point is, it would deter me from doing this if I had somewhere to store them, so I would only go and get them if I REALLY wanted to. Stuff looks like so much more when you can actually see the number of them you have.
...You'd probably call me stupid for being so nice to people I don't even know, but that's how I am.
Icing on the cake is, It another option! You don't HAVE to use it!!!!! So you can leave it alone if you think it's stupid!!!!!!!!
What benefit would it offer over just carrying it with you? *derp*
