The tutorial gate currently will drop you into an in-progress party, meaning you can miss the early lessons... not a good thing.

Simply change the selection
Simply change the selection from "Join a Party" to "Start a Party." This allows you to even block other players from joining.

Right, but noobs wouldn't know how to lock their party, or know the difference between "Join a party" and "Start a party" (even though those terms are pretty obvious.)
I think Rescue Camp and the tutorial gate need to be idiot-proof, 'cuz the rest of the game isn't...
This is a good suggestion.
