Well as the title suggests, is it just me?? For the past week, I've been doing at least 3-5 tier 3 basil runs, in each different gate as it pops up, all in search for the elusive Grey Owlite Shield Recipe. But up to this day I still have not come across that darn recipe. Instead I think OOO is trying to pull my strings as every 2nd run or so I see a horned owlite shield recipe instead =.=
So is it just me??? And if it's not and you have been seeing grey owlite shield recipe's frequently, which gates have you been doing the tier 3 basil runs on??? And by what gate i mean, is it a JK gate? Twins Gate? Vana Gate? you get the idea.

I am missing my Callahan AND Grey Owlite recipes too :D
1 set of armor and 2 other weapons are already 5*, but those two always elude me when I "recipe run" tier 3. And no, I'm not forking my money to the overpriced lunatics at the AH...

I bought my Ash Tail set
I bought my Ash Tail set recipe from AH because I never found the recipe ever since I got Dusker set. Although I did find Ash Tail Cap recipe the day after I crafted Ash Tail Cap.

The question is: how bad do you want it?
4* recipes can usually be purchased for 11-14k, and 5* for 30-35k. A good finders fee, and not worth the profit margin for the run and capital IMO.
I have over a dozen 5* items, and about the same amount of 4/3 star stuff that's either forgotten about or in transit to 5. Almost none of those recipes were purchased from stupid Basil and his stupid random recipes.
Now, if you're buying ITEMS from AH and not recipes, prepare for stupid-high markup. I sell my 2* craft at around 1750/2500, and that's pretty dang low. It costs 400+mats to make. I don't sell 3* stuff, as I'm not interested in donating CE to a gamble. When you start to incorporate unbind fees to the base price of 4/5* items....well, for the price of 1 Skolver cap you could probably make 5 AND add UVs via Punch.
When I paid 60k for my Divine Avenger recipe back in the day, I was fine with it, and it's worth every penny. My Gran Faust recipe was 40k, and it's paid for itself in hundreds of dead jellies and critters.
Just sort by buying price and grab the first one. That's the lazy way of doin it :)

Also, Basil is random from gate to gate, but his stock is the same for hours. If you're running one gate to get to him, you won't find anything different for a while.

My understanding was Basil was random every single run, regardless of gate chosen. I.E. When I enter a new run, I get a new Basil list, end of story.

from what I've seen, nope.
from what I've seen, nope. When i do arena runs thru some of the more fortunately placed gates, I hit the same t1 or t2 basil all the time, and it's always the same thing.

except the part where he thinks its gate specific. I WANT GREY OWLITE!
Its just random... you get lucky or you dont, just buy the recipes that everybody wants, sells them at the AU, and then buy yours with the money
