For swords, i have my eyes set on the Combuster, Dread Venom Striker (cos of its speed, it seems like a good weapon), Leviathan Blade (i think this should be a must have for general expeditions) and the Divine Avenger( hear people say it is good against zombies)

1. Can anyone tell me if these swords are good, and if some of the swords are good what are they suitable for?

2. I also am looking for a good shield for t2 and t3. Have eyes set on the final owlite :) Is this a good choice?

3. As for armor, Opinions?

Thank you

The swords you choose except

The swords you choose except for Dread Venom Striker, are good choices taken alone. Dread Venom Striker, on the other hand, only has one purpose : doing JK : it is the only place where poison is strongly recommended. If you plan on running a lot JK, go for it, else you don't really need it I think.

The problem with your swords is that they are all normal or elemental : you don't have any piercing or shadow one.

Owlite is a good first choice, you'll probably need some more once you reach t3 to cover more situations (or so i heared, I didn't reached t3 myself yet :'( )

As for armor, well the 2 obvious choices for a sworder are Vog Cub and Skolver. The elemental and fire resist, plus the fact you have a heavy sword, will probably make Vog Cub more desirable for you.

Dread Venom Striker as Fradow

Dread Venom Striker as Fradow and many many other people said, is useless unless taken into Jelly Palace. All your other choices are good just note that Combuster cannot be taken everywhere like Divine Avenger. The reason is because Combuster can cause fire so you don't want to bring it into a Fire stratum or a place where Oilers spawn. You can try the other lines like Glacius (good for crowd control) or Voltedge (does some damage and some crowd control but doesn't do it as good as Glacius or Combuster). Note that Glacius can refreeze melted Ice Cubes and Voltedge can supercharge Quicksilvers. Since you don't have any Piercing or Shadow weapons, I would suggest that you get one. For Piercing it would be either Flourish or Snarble Barb, do not choose the Status Flourishes because you can often kill the enemies that is weak against fast enough without dealing status effects. For Shadow, you can either choose Nightblade (one of the swords Brandish upgrades to) or Faust (the charged attack can curse you but the normal attack can't and will curse enemies).
Since you are Sword user, I would suggest the Wolver series.
Owlite Shield is a good choice, but once you got to T3, you will need to craft other shields.

It depends on how many "wopons" you are using!

Really DA and Levi is the most obvious. thats the most important. The 3rd and 4th "wopons" would be Grand Faust (my favorite) or night blade and flourish (meh) or snarble barb (awesome!).
For armor I would recommend the magic set-------------------------------- divine veil (makes you look like an angel)
and the wolver coat--------------------------------------------------------vog cub (looks cool, but no piercing) skolver (awesome)
People argue that you don't need piercing but I am one of those reckless players who always goes through spikes, ends up fighting in the thorns and dying there. So if you are like me choose the Skolver, if you are goodat walking straight then choose Vog Cub.

Definitely a good choice. If

Definitely a good choice. If you want to carry a gun or a bomb, you can remove the Levi as you have bonus damage against everything with the 3 other weapons.

Refer to this page of the wiki for mosnters weakness : http://wiki.spiralknights.com/Damage

For shields, if you want a Shadow resistance for those damn fiends, the only choice that upgrade to 5* and doesn't require to farm a T3 boss is a Skelly Shield. Piercing shouldn't really be a problem.

Barbarous Thorn Shield.You

Barbarous Thorn Shield.

You can replace Acheron with Gran Faust if you like.

Fradow posted a link as to what sword to use against which monster.

Honestly, all you need is Leviathan Blade. Leviathan Blade alone or paired with any other sword from your choices is already acceptable coverage. Something like Divine Avenger and Snarble Barb or Divine Avenger and Gran Faust is near-perfect coverage and all three are popular combinations. If you carry elemental, shadow, AND piercing, you don't even need Leviathan and can use a gun instead, unless you want Leviathan for its inherent properties such as fast swing, knockback, and charge.

The answer depends on your style

First, ask yourself whether you prefer the 2-swing heavy swords, or the faster 3-swing swords. Your choice of elemental and shadow sword will depend on this.
A Leviathan and Snarble/Flourish are recommended regardless, as if you prefer sword as your primary there will be times where you want the utility of the Levi's charge attack, and the pure piercing damage on the Snarble/Flourish.
If you are a quick sword person, get a Glacius/Combuster/Voltedge and Acheron for your elemental and shadow damage swords; heavy sword aficionados should get a Divine Avenger and Gran Faust.

For the rest of your weaponry, I recommend a backup gun. It can be normal or elemental damage (because most targets you want to gun will be constructs anyway); some good choices are the Storm or Hail Driver, Supernova and Polaris. The Valiance is also decent (although make sure you get it to 5* ASAP because the 5* version has much faster bolts). Additional usable (but generally inferior) choices include the Argent Peacemaker and Volcanic Pepperbox. The key is to figure out what you most often want a gun for, and pick accordingly.

Armor is similarly situational. If you get impaled on spikes or bitten frequently, then deck out with Skolver. If turrets bother you the most, get Vog or mix and match. I would avoid non-wolver sets unless the aesthetics really bother you, as wolver gear will give you the best offensive bonuses. For your first 5* shield, I highly recommend a Grey Owlite or Barbarous Thorn- the former if you want superb protection, latter if you want to go pure offense. If you can put a pierce or shadow UV on the owlite (or a elemental/shadow on the b-thorn) all the better.
