If my shield has shadow protection, how will a max. shadow Uv affect it, and how will and elemental UV affect it, and which is better for this kind of shield?
For example, Crest of Almire has Normal and Shadow defensive qualities, so would a Max UV be best or would an elemental MAX UV be better since it doesn't have elemental defense?

A long time ago someone did a test of VPS UV Normal Low vs VPS UV Normal Max. The low took 12 hits from a jelly before cracking, the max took 13 hits before cracking.

Many things have changed in the game since then though, so it would be worthwhile to repeat such tests.

I also have a Grey Owlite Normal Low, these are the numbers I got from D19 so far:

  • Lumbar broke on 2nd hit
  • Gun Puppy 15 hits to break. Needed two in order to even break it since it regens faster than one gun puppy can break it.
  • Alpha Wolver (this strata) broke on 2nd bite

Note on the Alpha Wolver - it takes the same damage from hits as other wolvers at that depth. So it wasn't one of those Alpha Wolvers from a deeper strata, like you get in most Wolver Dens, which has higher defense and higher attack than other wolvers at that depth.
