now I don't wanna sound like I'm spoiled or complaining, but let's face it, Dread Skelly Sheild is FUGLY.
That and Blackened Creat sereis are the only two shadow sheilds we have, and Crest isn't a realistic choice for me. (crap load of CE or crap load of Vana)
So I'm basically stuck with that ugly Sheild @-@, I know it's just looks and I don't care about it TOO much, but can the Dread Skelly atleast have some kind of shadow-like glow .-.

It looks like the darkfire smoke, but black. Kinda hard to see though.
The Dread Skelly Shield does look a bit plain. The lower star versions in the alchemy line were shields with a briar motif. It is a little weird to see all the design progression tossed aside. I think it would look better if it had a skull with eyes that glowed bright purple.
While a redesign sounds pointless, it might encourage more use if people were impressed by how it looks.
Im not really asking for a redesign (even though that would be nice), im just saying, it could be a bit more flashy as a 5* sheild. Just like all the other 5* equips.

On topic - I'm actually a fan of it, because the middle ridge looks a bit like a spine. :> That's the only reason though. I'd be fine with a skull, or even the "ribbed" part having spikes coming off the side of the shield like the Barbarous Thorn Shield does. It's a small aesthetic, but it's an effective one that'd make it more of a "Dread Skelly Shield" than just a... well, skelly shield.

On topic: I think the shield looks fine. It's not ugly to me at all, and it's totally in line with the rest of the skelly gear. I think it could use a bit more something, though; the owlite shield is obviously bright and glowing, and I think the skelly shield needs to be far more prominent with the shadow effect. Make the cloud much more noticeable. It also seems a bit small for a 5*, but maybe that's just me. I use a VPS when I don't have my dread skelly equipped, and that thing is colossal. Anyway, I agree that while I like the shield, it could use a bit more oomph. Needs a little suttin' suttin' thrown onto it to make it look a little cooler.
Also slightly off topic: the sinister skelly shield, the brown kite one, was waaaay too warped for my taste. It looks fine from the front by from the side, the things looks so bent it's like a truck ran it over as it was suspended across a hole.
