So, joining Spiral knight 2 days ago, giving me a playtime of 2 days total, exept for 5 mins today.
I have had a blast, let me summerise it shortly.

Never had a break, managed to get so much energy that I could upgrade my gear, and always have a exact amount of energy so I could get cash for another 100 CE.

So, I thought hey this game is easy, my friend told me yesterday the original price for floors is 10.. now I got a bit bummerd out.
At what level can I get that self-going again without needing to wait for energy?

Wolver cap and armor *2 (going to upgrade to 4*) had cobalt befor but noticed this is a damage giving armor
(sadly having a levl 4 wolfer set compared to 10 cobalt, its a huge diff in damage taken already, hope it sort itself out a bit better at lvl10)

Calibur *4 already
Starter gun and a Bristling buckler, the one for 10 bossmarks, *2.
the buckler also gives damage.

around 600 energy and 7k crowns atm, so I can go for a bit more
I require hella more cash and energy to get my gear in suit for 4*
So, do I continue to dive randomly? :o
So far im always starting at floor 1, 500 extra crowns aint ok.

I can play the game, so far im doing really good solo, since most people tend to leave, guessing its worse now since people run out of energy every second due to resurecting using it.

Soloing arena and such is a bit hard once it becomes ice ;D but works.

----So, my next goal is to get *4 stuff, it aint easy, will take ages since I can only go to t2 stuff, can I survive at this level with "infinite energy" or do I need to go deeper for that?
Any tips on how to make those extra cash?
and lastly, should I use a gun with that sword, what one?

Cheers from Catstyle, play with me someday ok? :)

Edit: just made it down to t2 with my new gear, wow the damange is now noticeable, 2 shotting those damn annoying foxes! yiha.

Generic advice here.

Join a guild that suits your personality and have them invite you over for profitable depths, vice versa.

Hm, is it any perks within a guild? besides loaning stuff probably, venturing down in parties, etc etc.

Like guild pve? or just pvp?
Skills or whatever.

First off, you figured out by

First off, you figured out by yourself what good gear is, the wolver set is the standard first armor set people get. It has piercing defense now, but at 5* it has a version that gets elemental and fire resist (vog cub), which most endgame enemies you take damage from do. You can also make a piercing suit instead, so options plenty. Calibur is very nice.
So your gear is quite good, though you might want to get a second shield later (most people would recommend owlite or volcanic plate, but that's future music).

You can join parties down at T2 directly, instead of starting at floor 1. It costs the same amount of energy (10 per floor) but gives more coins in return. It might also cost coins to go down to T2 directly, but you can prevent that by fighting down to T2 for that particular gate just once. After that the crown cost is gone. Read more about that here: http://wiki.spiralknights.com/Gate#Gate_Progress

Until you have everything at 4* and you can start at T3, it'll be hard to earn back enough for energy AND make a profit. The jelly king palace is quite popular, since it gives a good amount of coins. Don't spend too much revives fighting the royal jelly (boss) at the end though, until you get some experience. The runs should be profitable, since you'll not get random rare drops which might suddenly make the run profitable, you get a set reward in tokens every time. Read up on the wiki on how to kill him and what preparations you can take in the levels leading up to him.

As for guild benefits, you can join your guild mates in parties when they (for example) already worked through the less profitable first half of a tier or reached a boss stratum. You see, a tier is split in 2 halves, with the first half dropping little coins in comparison to the second half, but as reward you get to see basil at the crossroads middlepoint and his random selection of recipes you might be able to use or sell if they're in high demand. The second half is where there's more coin drops and most boss levels are also located at the second half of a tier.

Thank you Sliphy, just killed

Thank you Sliphy, just killed the twins after a struggle now, a good knight did most of the work thou since my shield couldnt take more then 1 hit until breaking, the wiki is something I use all the time, specially before bossfights.

The gate progess was info I badly needed,(is that the correct saying?)
cheers, got it fixed on 3 out of 4 gates, just need the last one (the one that have the jelly palace)

So I didnt to totaly wrong with the gear and can stick to it until 4* atleast? neat.
Thought I was stupid ditching cobalt for wolfie, since it had way more resistance.

Cheers for the answer really, going to go right at it as soon as I calulated some values on how much i must earn in order to go +-0 or benefit from a round. :D

Still unsure if I should

Still unsure if I should switch back to kobalt for the defence or stay with the damage armor.
How handy will it be later down or will most attacks be elemental?

Definitely stay with the

Definitely stay with the wolver line, wiki their latest 5* versions and you'll see why they're so popular.

1: The last dungeon, which is the most profitable earning around 8k per trip (more if you also beat the boss and use his tokens to sell the items) is entirely fire themed.
2: Almost everything in there is weak to elemental, so people use Divine Avengers in there. Those big blades benefit the most from the speed increase the Vog Cub set gives.
3: Not most, but some of the most annoying attacks will be elemental. Take a look at http://wiki.spiralknights.com/Monsters for details on that. Long story short, the things that are hardest to dodge in confined spaces do shadow/elemental, sometimes with a mix of normal. Wolvers and jellies that deal piercing are some of the easiest to dodge or least common enemies at the places where it counts most, like the last dungeon I mentioned.

When considering armor, you should realize that at the lowest levels you'll still die in relatively few hits. The game is all about dodging as much damage as you can and shielding the rest. The sword speed bonus might be more beneficial than for example a volcanic plate (http://wiki.spiralknights.com/Volcanic_Plate_Mail) with its higher defense, but slower attack speed. Faster attack means you'll get your shield up faster. The difference between those two armors could be NOT taking an attack that would have done 8 hearts of damage or tanking it and getting 6 hearts damage instead.

Arguably, your shield is more important defensively and you'll want two eventually, one against elemental (Grey Owlite is popular because it does that AND fire/shock) and one against shadow (Crest of Almire is popular because it does that AND fire/shock, but it's hard to get).
