I was under the impression that once energy had been bought, mist energy would no longer be shared between two accounts. So why is it still shared on mine?

Mist is handled on the account level. Multiple characters on the same account will always share the same mist supply.

Did you purchase with cash/CC/whatever and received the CE on that account? Also, we are talking about 2 accounts, and not 2 knights on the same login right?
